Can you level up in Wi-Fi battles?

And, while I'm here, my router isn't compatable so I'm going to purchase one of those plug in devices just for my DS - do they work pretty well? Any problems?

By leveling up, do you mean...

1. Do you gain experience points?

The answer is simple. No. You gain no experience points, nor EVs, nor prize money.

2. Can you change the level of your Pokemon?

I figure this in there, only because you can. There are settings in the WiFi area to try and equal out the playing field. You can set your whole team to be level 50 or Level 100. That way, even if you've just beaten the sixth gym or so, you can still play someone who's had the game and beaten everything, and still stand somewhat of a chance.

As far as your plug question, I'm not sure...
