I'm lookin for a good fire type that learns some great moves to add to my team. I'm thinkin about either ninetales are Torkoal. If you can recommend me one of these are another fire type I did'nt mention I would appreciate it.

    Thank you

    Torkoal EVs 252 Sp Attack/ 252 HP/SpDef 6 Athing
    Body Slam/Iron Defense
    Amnesia
    Flamethrower/HeatWave
    Toxic

well if u want ninetales then u are going for an annoyer
    Ninetales[modest]
    EVs - SpDef 128, SpAtt 256, hp 128
    flamethrower
confuse ray/attract/reflect[if it can learn it]
    will-o-wisp
    spite/roar/protect/sunny day

    Torkoal is a tank
    Torkoal[+SpDef, -SpAtt]
    EVs - SpDef 256, Att 128, hp 128
    overheat
    rest
    body slam
    amnesia/iron defense

    not sure about either ^_^

    wha...? Torkoal without yawn?

    Torkoal- [atk or sp.atk + / speed -] @ leftovers
EV: Hp, atk/sp.atk or both, little def
    -yawn/body slam
-few of the following: flamethrower, overheat, rock slide, sludge bomb, iron defense, curse, mimic

Quite a good Pokemon... I would have used it if it can roar (too bad it can't)

lol... which is really just "there's the movepool now you go make something up" XD Torkoal is highly flexible... I really don't know which one suits your team the most. It's quite an underrated Pokemon that deserves mentioning.

Id agree with Sceptile Master; Houndoom is the best. Except, instead of Iron Tail, id have it know sunny day.

actually, you can get Houndoom on R/S, but you need Pokemon Colloseum(sp?), which unfortunatly i dont have. I think you can get Houndour on FR/LG, but thats not out yet, so there's no point in saying that...

    really it all depends...

Blaziken is one of the best because of its mix sweeping ability along with a huge movepool (even got Quick attack). However, its downside is that it's very slow and sluggish moving. It is still an OU.

Charizard can buff its attack power in MANY ways, as it learns both dances along with belly drum... that's a lot of buff up options. Its special attack is very good as well, along with high speed. Its downside must be the terrible type combination. It's only a BL though.

Thyplosion... completely forgotton after losing thunderpunch. Whatever it can do, someone else can probably do it better unless it's a UU tourney.

Houndoom is just stuck on special sweeping and only almost. It can sunnybeam, and pursuit is always a nice way to say "die zams!" Flash fire and early bird are both helpful abilities. However, dark types does give it the common brick break weakness, and it's Blissey/Milotic/Ludicolo/any other special tank screwed unlike most other fire types, because it can't mix sweep (anymore).

    Typlosion@Salac Berry
    Howl
    Earthquake
    HP Physical
    Quick Attack/Overheat

    Typlo isnt THAT forgotten...

    Fire Pokemon...

    Magcargo@Leftovers
    Yawn
    Acid Armor/Amnesia
    Rock Slide
    Overheat
    *His Defense isnt bad

    Camerupt@Leftovers
    Amnesia
    Earthquake
    Rock Slide
    Overheat

There is also Magmar, Rapidash, Flareon and Arcanine...

Marcargo has like awesome stats and everything, only with a x2 weakness to almost everything and 2 x4 weakness to mess it over. Even Aggron and Articuno aren't as bad as Marcargo (and these two have some of the worst type combination possible)
