Hello community,
I'm wanting to do a hack, possibly of the gen 5 games. I've got a little experience working with the tools but have never done much more than make my own intro sequence and first couple of towns and connecting routes with pokemon and events. I'm wanting to do a bit of a challenging ROM, something like a toned down emerald kaizo. Nothing crazy, because I want it to be more fun than anything. I want to build a great story around it and I want everyone on the team to be able to work together and cooperate, for everyone to be able to speak and be heard. I'm thinking of an older protagonist, not a 10 year old. I want new mons, so that means new sprites, which is something that I've never done, so I'll need a good artist. I've literally only made one fakemon before. I want it to be open world like SV are and fill it with many quests besides just the standard 8 gym badges and then the elite four. This will make the level curve higher and make the elite four's mon levels higher. Also, if possible (I tried to do this before on RPG Maker XP but couldn't figure it out quite right) I'd like to try to make it a combination of Zelda and Pokemon. The protagonist will fight enemies that are not pokemon with an inventory of weapons and there will also be pokemon battles with trainers. This is actually the theme of my novel series so to speak, but I don't have pokemon technically. If this can be done, this could be a mind-blowing rom hack that could have the protagonist dungeon-crawling, completing quests, AND taking on pokemon trainers. In the end the protagonist could face the final boss in hand-to-hand combat until the boss is too weak to continue and then it switches to the ultimate pokemon face off. I understand this is a long shot, like I said I tried combining these two together before on RPG Maker and couldn't figure out how to make it work, but I feel if I get with more experienced people who know how to use the tools better than I do, we might make it happen. Let me know if you're interested! I'm working on getting this Alienware laptop of mine up and running so I can start downloading ROM hack tools and get to work.
Sincerely,
ATLooney
