    Hello everyone,

I have been attempted to make several hacks and have started over countless times.

Can someone please just help me out locating the perfect rombase to start with. I see all this talk about Mrdollsteak's patch or Green Charizard's. But I can't seem to find them or the ones I have found have not worked.

So if anyone could please help me gathering all the materials I need to have the best rombase to start with please please do so.

    Thank you

i just want to say that i have never heard of green charizard's rombase until today
it's basically dppt graphics in pokemon ruby
the real bad part about it is that he didn't actually do it that well, blaming it on apparent limitations present in ruby :P

    firered has a few options:
    - mrdollsteak's decap and attack rombase: probably the best fire red rombase out there for fire red (coding-wise, more or less, which a lot of people don't want to do or learn :P)
    - all the 721 patches/glitchy messes
    - a few tileovers, notably wesleyfg's hoenn bw one which is done really well in my opinion
    - really look at anything in the resource category ahaha

    emerald:
    - dizzyegg's battle engine update is good shit. definitely the way to go if combined with a tileover.

however, if you want my personal suggestion, THE CLEAN ROM IS THE BEST ROM BASE <3
emerald's battle engine update is actually pretty much perfect as well (it doesn't cause bugs in any other sort of area of the game and bugs are constantly being worked out with it so)

EDIT: this post pretty much sums it up imo
