something that ive always wondered and never had a chance to find out and cant check properly on the websites ive looked at for damage calculators is: would a max HP/max Attack adamant/brave infernape with life orb effectively kill itself with a flare blitz if used against a max HP ferrothorn (neutral nature) with rocky helmet (both having max HP IVs/EVs and max attack EVs for infernape)? it was just some random experiment i never got to test to find out

Rocky Helmet and Iron Barbs would collectively cause 29.1% of damage to Infernape. Life Orb would bring this to 39.1%. Max HP Ferrothorn reaches 352 HP. When Infernape OHKO's Ferrothorn with Flare Blitz, it will cause Infernape to take 117 HP in recoil. Max HP Infernape has 356 HP. This is about 32.8% of Infernape's HP, which would leave Infernape with over 20% of its HP.

Now if you do the same thing with LO Rapidash or Flareon (each have 65 base HP) and leave their HP uninvested, they receive 82.2% damage from recoil. If they switch into Stealth Rock, they would be KO'ing themselves through recoil damage.
