Maximising stat for beneficial nature

Maybe this is common knowledge but since I searched around and didn't read anything about it I thought I'd post.

EV = effort value points. E.g. kill one Zubat get one speed EV.

If a pokemon has a beneficial nature its total stat can be raised up by 69 points through EV training instead of 63 as is stated. This won't affect anyone who has given 252 EV's points for one stat though.

I caught a level 70 jolly Groudon in pokemon emerald, its stat was 166 in speed. The max it can have at level 70 is 167. I gave it 30 rare candies and found its stat was 235 so with max EV's of 252 equating to 63 points it would only end up with 298 speed but I raised it up to level 100 with 252 EV's in speed and it ended up with 304 speed matching up with what I expected. 166 should equal 304. I then experimented on other pokemon and found the same applies across the board. If it has a beneficial nature then to unlock its full stat total you HAVE to give it all 252 EV points or else you'll lose 6 points. For every 28 EV points given a to Pokemon with a beneficial nature you unlock one extra point for that stat.

If further clarification is needed I caught a calm Raikou in pokemon colesseum with stats of 104 in special attack and 104 in special defence. Without any EV's its special attack ended up as 257 and its special defence at 255 at level 100. (I have a lot of rare candies, Zigzagoon in pokemon ruby) But giving each stat both 100 EV points, its special attack was 282 and its special defence was 283 gaining 28 more points not 25, it got 3 extra points; one for each of the 28 EV points given.

I would just like to know if other people have found this to be true or not, because I haven't tested this in pokemon diamond or pearl.

On a slightly different topic. I caught a Starmie raised it up to level 100 but now want to give it more EV points in special attack, it's nature is modest. Using pomeg berries I lowered its HP EV value from 160 back to zero, can its special attack be increased further? It can't in ruby or emerald. Can this be done in diamond or leaf green?

Also if it helps I think EV's can be doubled using EXP. Share. If you have a young pokemon and want to train it up, stick a exp. share on it and whatever pokemon is used to do the killing will pass on both EV's and experience. I think it only works up to the first 100 EV's. But again confirmation would be appreciated

NOTE: I have never used a cheating device on any game.
