    ok im leveling up my metagross and so far have this setup:

    Metagross (level 56) (pokerus)
    @ lucky egg (lefties later once leveled)

    -Agility
    - Meteormash
    - Earthquake
    - ????? (not sure bout this spot)

    ok in the last spot ive got a choice as i see it. one of these two:

    Shadow Ball (to get ghosts)

    OR

    Sludge Bomb (cos i like it but not sure if its as useful in the long run)

    OR

    one that you guys suggest that i still have a TM/HM for.

    bare in mind this is a physical Agiligross so NO special type attacks please.

    Trade one of your friends who has FR/LG and make them teach it Explosion. Meteor Mash can take on Ghost Pokemon, so either Explosion or Sludge Bomb.
     
    im not a fan of KOing myself for a OHKO type attack...is not worth it..especially when you've got EQ and MM on him possibly with Att boosts from MM or even a belly drum BPed to you (or a failed attempt at swagger :P god they are funny)

    When you're just about to be KOed, and the opponent has full HP, Explosion is very useful. You're going to be KOed anyway. Why not take something with you?

    In all seriousness, Psychic would do you well, since there can be some Physical walls that don't take much damage from Quake or Meteor Mash (Hello Weezing)
     
    Weezing owns Metagross anyways. Wow on you or just Pain Split stall you until your good enough to KO. And Hell it right, Explosion is good on anything that can learn it. The whole point isn't just to blow up, not right away anyways. Metagross is tanking you opponents team and its losing HP, Charizard comes out, you don't have any good attacks to hit it with. BOOM! And unless your team is Metagross alone, you should win.
     
    Explosion on anything fast, and sometimes slow. Snorlax goes boom =O

    Stop eating so much Snorlax.

    It still works wonders, though.

    I don't like the idea of putting Psychic on Metagross at all. Special attacking should be left to another monster instead of -- in my opinion -- wasting one of Metagross' move slots that could have another physical attack. I've been able to KO Weezing with Metagross, anyway. Either that, or I switch to something else. Personally, I don't see the need for Psychic. In my opinion, when you try to design a monster to fit all situtations, or many, many situations, you detract from its original purpose. In this example, I think Metagross would be a better monster if it stuck to physical attacks.


    Edit: Lum Berry is a much better item for Metagross.
     
    You could possibly go with that on something other than Metagross, maybe Shiftry. But I dont suggest it on Metagross. Sala maybeh.
     
    Agility isn't very useful because Skarm is going like "hi I switch in have fun with your speed while I spike or something". And this isn't just skarm, it's just prolly the best example of something OU'd that counters the agility gross. You'd be better off with like another attack, sub, etc. If you do go all sweepage like, consider choice band :O Explosion almost OHKOs skarm :(

    True, but also it fishes out Skarm pretty quickly in the same vein of thinking. Then you can pull out Maggie or some other nice counter. If Skarm doesn't show up, then it's a plus to the Metagross user.
     
    I can understand having Metagross on a team, but with a pokemon as specialized as Magneton, you've got to realize just by having the duo on the same team you're building up a bunch of common multiple weaknesses, which is a _bad_ thing.

    Besides, I never said Skarm was the only thing that hinders it. A lot of things can hinder it. Agility is more old school, better back when Metagross didn't get 50 new moves to play with, like Explosion and such.
     
    CB Meta might be scary. =O

    More scary then the thing trying to agility up and then it dies and stuff.
