1st Gen Mew Advice

I have an official Mew at level 63 and I've left him that way for sometime now. I want to trade him onto my yellow and give him the moves; soft boild and thunderbolt, but because he's so rare i'm get the feeling that maybe i should leave with his original moves.

My advice is to move on from RBY. I have an official mew, along with other glitched ones. Just buy one of the new 4th gen games and move on.

that's not the point of this forum. this is the branch of the forum where people like the old games, the originals and the metal versions. don't come on here just to bash them.

as far as the Mew goes? mine has Softboiled, Ice Beam, Earthquake and Psychic. keep in mind that Mew's special attack is equal to his attack. you might even consider using Swords Dance on him.

Mew is considered to be the wildcard becasue is can learn all but Hydro Cannon, Some Fire Move That I Cannot recall, Some Grass Move That I Can't Recall, And Some Dragon Move That I cannot recall. So really what you want to teach it, teach it.

Give it Thunderbolt and Softboiled if you want.

What you'd want to keep is the certificate that would've come with it. That's what's considered rare.

mew can learn any TM or HM so teach him whatever u like
also i think having it in Gold/Silver/Crystal is much better than keeping him in Yellow
