Mew or Arceus as Pokemon Ancestor

    When it was just the original 151, Mew was claimed to be the Pokemon "ancestor" or "creator". But now that Sinnoh has come along... Arceus is the now acclaimed "ancestor". Who do you think the "True Ancestor" is? I think it is mew. Mew was the orignal and got kicked out of his position, after 3 series, by arceus. I think nintendo was just being rude there
     
    I say Mew, because it came first, but the only way to find out who should be the creator or w/e. They must battle it out. lol xD
     
    It would be so much easier if this was a poll, but I say Mew. Not necessarily because it came first but because...

    So I think that Arceus created Mew, which created all the non-legendary Pokemon (excluding Porygon, Porygon2, and Porygon-Z)
     
    It doesn't matter; neither could have created either unless Dialga and Palkia were there first to establish form and a timeline. Without time, they are both eternal; neither occurred before the other.
     
    Arceus is the Pokemon God isn't he?
    Doesn't mean he is the ancestor, so I'll go with Mew

    Also, transcender, if you ahve played PMD2 they just keep it in balance, its like the sun, before it was there there was no light, before they were there there was no time or space, it was just frozen

    No. Arceus is not the God. He is the creator. Creator and God are not the same. God implies perfection, and he's far from perfect.

    Mew is the ancestor, but not of all pokemon, just all non-legendaries. But ancestor doesn't mean he created them.

    Guys, look up ancestor in the dictionary, seriously.
     
    Well it's just that this is becoming so old and I don't see why it should even be in question.

    Arceus - It is described in mythology as the Pokémon that shaped the universe with its 1,000 arms.

    Mew - Because it can use all kinds of moves, many scientists believe MEW to be the ancestor of Pokémon.


    Ancestor just means a common link between species. For example, scientists believe humans and primates to have a common ancestor. Not a creator, but an ancestor.

    There's nothing to decide between, nothing to argue, nothing to discuss. This is just how it is.
     
    Arceus: Alpha Pokemon

    Meaning Arceus is the beginning of all of pokemon creation. He's the true ancestor.
     
    Think the bible.... Arceus being God, and Mew being Adam and Eve.

    In other words, Arceus created the world with Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Kyrogre, and Groudon, then created all those other legends as guardians and whatnot, then created Mew and gave "her" (I call Mew a "she") the DNA of all the legends and told her to create the Pokemon to roam earth.

    Or something like that...

    I think you can say that Pokethology is a combination of The Bible and Greek Mythology.

    It was never anyhwere mentioned that the Sinnoh legendaries have anything to do with the Hoenn ones.

    Stop saying ancestor=creator, it's not.

    And btw, to me it seems more like every generations legends are based on some other mythology. But on greek mythology I only see Sinnoh l.


    In the real world there's 2 widely known explanations for the origin of life:
    -supernatural god
    -evolution

    Arceus resembles the 1st one, being even worshipped by some people in the pokeworld (while he isn't a god!!!!!1)
    Mew resembles the 2nd one, because SCIENTISTS ASSUME it's the ancestor of all pokemon.

    Just like in the real world, none of the 2 are for sure the real thing.

    Maybe GF just made that so that they could laugh when people make a thread about if its number 1 or 2. LOL

    Didn't Groudon supposedly create land, and Kyrogre supposedly created the sea?

    from that, I think Arceus created them to make earth.
