    Ok! This is a story based on an RPG. Enjoy!

    Chapter 1: Introductions of the new friends

    Josh Bates, an eleven year-old boy, was hopping on the Hogwarts Express. A scarlet train that would take him to Hogwarts. He had short brown hair and blue eyes. He was about one metre fifty and was very nice. He was wearing his school robes which he had changed into at a nearby bathroom on platform nine and three quarters
    Josh was an orphan. He knew nothing about his parents. They some ow died. But they had alot of money before they died which was good for Josh because he could afford going to Hogwarts. He had all of his items with him.
    Josh had no friends. Well, no friends except for his pet owl named Snowy. No one really liked him at the orphanage. Josh was sad that he didn't have any friends. But, little did he know, strange things were going to happen at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Things that would bring people closer together, let him have adventures, and maybe even get rewarded!
    Josh wandered until he found a vacant 'cabin'. He plopped his stuff on the seat across and stared out the window.

    Terra Lanes, an eleven year-old girl, was walking through the Hogwarts Express trying to find somewhere to sit. She had long 'dirty' blonde hair which she had to move every now and then. Underneath her grey school robes, Terra was wearing a black tanktop and skirt.
    She was a bit shorter than Josh whom she had never met. But little did she know, they would soon meet.
    After about ten minutes of wandering, Terra found the only 'cabin' which had hardly anyone in it. The only person in it was Josh. Terra, wanting to sit down really badly, asked Josh: "Can I sit here?"
    "Sure!" replied Josh moving his stuff so Terra could sit there.
    "Thanks!" She said sitting down and putting her stuff next to her. "By the way, I'm Terra!"
    "Josh!" Josh replied smiling and then looking out the window again.
    Terra also stared out the window thinking. Should I tell him I have siren blood and about myself? She asked in her head.
    Josh looked at Terra as if he knew she was going to say something.
    "So!" Terra said tearing her eyes away from the window. "Tell me something about yourself!"
    Josh then sighed and began telling Terra about his life so far.

    Like a seventh of the people on the train, Berii Asakura was an eleven year-old. She had shoulder length blonde hair, and blue eyes. Like Terra, she wore a tanktop and skirt under her robes. She was cheerful, innocent, quite daring and sometimes even naive!
    Berii hoped she wouldn't suffer by hearing the dirty name jerk people call wizards or witches who have muggle parents. Mudblood, was the most foul word you could call a person in Berii's case.

    As Berii walked she noticed a 'cabin' with a boy and a girl talking. Seeing it was the only one left, Berii opened the door. Josh and Terra, who were the two people were talking about themselves.
    "... So you're a parseltoungue and part siren!" Josh said. "Apart from the parseltongue, cool!"
    Josh then looked up to see Berii. He was pleasured to meet new people.
    "Hi!" Berii said. "I'm Berii Asakura! Do you mind if I sit here?" she was referring to the space next to Terra.
    "Not at all!" said Terra cheerfully removing the luggage and putting it on the rack at the top.
    "Hi!" Josh said. "I'm Josh Bates! And this is Terra Lanes!"
    "Hello nice to meet you!" Said Berii sitting down.
    "So are you looking forward to seeing what house you're in?" asked Terra.
    "Of course!" Berii and Josh said in unison. They looked at each other and began to laugh.

    A blonde hair boy was walking to the 'cabin' the three people were in. He was wearing faded blue jeans and a black muscle shirt. His parents had very high hopes in him. Although he strayed off to go on adventures, he was still a fine boy. His name was Johann Bache.

    Johann knocked on the 'cabin' door. He was greeted and let in.
    Josh moved his stuff so Johann could sit there.
    "I'm Johann!" He said.
    "I'm Josh!" Josh replied. "And this is Terra and Berii!"
    "Hi!" They both said in unison.
    ?Hello!? Johann replied. ?I?ll tell you a bit about myself...?
    Johann then explained about his dad having an association with dragons.

    Karli, a brown haired girl, also headed towards the ?cabin?. Her hair was shoulder length. She had a kind personality and was very good at magic!
    As Karli walked, her owl, Feather Duster, gave a loud hoot.
    ?Be quiet!? Said Karli.

    Karli got to the ?cabin? and knocked on the door. Like Johann, she was greeted. She put her stuff on the rack and squeezed in next to Berii and Terra.
    ?I?m Karli!? Karli said.
    The other four introduced themselves.
    ?So tell us about yourself!? said Josh.

    Day turned to night and it became very rainy.
    ?Look!? Josh yelled pointing out the window. ?We?re alost there!?
    He was right. Outside across from a big lake, was a giant castle. It was more than seven stories high!

    Ten minutes later, the train stopped at Hogsmade station.
    ?Firs? years over here!? yelled a big booming voice.


    Who is this person? Will the 5 friends stay friends? Why am I asking questions? Stay tuned for the next chapter!

    Chapter 2: The Hogwarts sorting! A surprising split!

    "Firs' years over here!" yelled a big booming voice.
    "Let's go!" Josh said to his four new friends.
    They all nodded and got their trunks from the racks.
    "This is the las' time!" the voice yelled. "Firs' years!"
    The friends followed the voice and saw a huge shadow. When they could see properly, it was a giant man with a big long black beard that covered most of his face. He was wearing a big overcoat which had things rolling around inside it.

    When all the first years got off the train, the man introduced himself. "I'm Rubeus Hagrid!" he said. "I'm the Gamekeep'r of Hogwarts and the Care of Magical Creatures teacher! Of course, you won't be able to study it 'till third year!"

    Josh had instant liking in Hagrid. He wasn't sure about the others though. But, there was one student he didn't like. He hadn't met him but from the sounds of things, he wouldn't want to. This boy had dark black hair and wore normal school robes.
    This student asked two offensive questions: "How much less are you smarter than the average monkey? And why do you smell more than the average elephant?"
    A few of his mates laughed. Hagrid just ignored him. "Anyways, we will be traveling by boat!"
    This stopped the people laughing. The boy then piped up again. "In the lake? But aren't there squids?"
    "Yeah!" said Hagrid. "Bu' they only get people like you!"
    This made Josh's day brighten up. Josh looked back at his other friends. They seemed to like Hagrid too.
    "Righ' this way then!" Hagrid said beckoning them to follow him.

    Ten minutes later we were in the Great Hall waiting for Professor McGonnagal.
    While we were waiting, the black haired boy came up to us.
    "Hello!" he said to Terra. "I'm Brendan Fletcher! What did you think of that idiotic oaf, Hagrid?"
    Terra was speechless. But Josh on the other hand, stood up for Hagrid. "I like Hagrid!"
    "Only idiots like Hagrid! But I guess that comes from a person who was abandoned by worthless parents!"
    That heated Josh up. He ran up to Brendan Fletcher and stuck his wand at his chin. "No one picks on my parents!"
    Brendan was whimpering. This seemed to scare him more than the squid.
    "For all I know," Josh continued. "My parents were heroes!"
    "Stop!" Karli yelled. "He's not worth it!"
    Josh hesitated for a second and the lowered his wand and began to walk back.
    Fletcher and a few of his mates s******ed. Josh spun around and punched him in the face. Fletcher fell down and Josh walked back.
    "That felt good!" He said waiting for Professor McGonnagal to appear. Luckily, Hagrid had not seen any of this. He was busy knocking at the door. A woman soon came out. She had grey hair tied in a bun and was wearing a green cloak. She was looking at Hagrid through her spectacles.
    "The first years made it safe I see, Hagrid!" she said.
    "Yeh'!" Hagrid replied . "Nice an' safe Professor McGonnagal!"
    "Good!" Professor McGonnagal said. "First years follow me! In twos please!"
    They followed her through some doors in twos and found about one thousand people there!
    Josh looked up at the roof. It was really high!
    "It's really not that high!" Karli piped up from behind him. "It's bewitched! I read it in Hogwarts: A History!"
    Josh thought Karli would be a promising student and friend as he walked with the rest of the year.
    Professor McGonnagal told them to stop and sit down. They all sat down on the floor like a bunch of kindergartners!
    Professor McGonnagal left and came back a few minutes later holding an old black pointed hat and a stool.
    "The sorting will now begin!" the Professor said sitting the stool in front of the staff table. Josh looked around. Hagrid was sitting there talking to a black haired man. He had a pointed nose and was wearing a blue cloak. Josh didn't like the look of that guy! He then looked around some more. There was an elderly man. He had a silvery beard and hair. He was wearing a red cloak. On his face were some half-moon glasses. He gave Josh a good look. Josh smiled and turned to Professor McGonnagal.
    "The house you get sorted into," she bagan. "is like a family. You will stay there. You can earn points for displaying knowledge in class or doing something good! You lose points for breaking the rules or being disrespectful to other teachers! Now let the sorting begin!"
    One by one, she began sorting the students and calling their names.
    "Bache, Johann!" Professor McGonnagal called. Johann got up. A bit scared of where he would be put.
    The professor put the hat on Johann. After a few moments the hat called: "RAVENCLAW!" Everyone cheered and clapped. Johann sat at the table.
    "Bates, Joshua!" Professor McGonnagal called putting the hat on Josh.
    The hat took a little while again and then called: "GRYFFINDOR!" Like all of the past people, everyone clapped. Josh looked at Johann and received a sad look. Josh was sad but he knew Johann would have other friends!
    Josh walked to teh Gryffindor table and sat at a seat which had one empty on either side.
    "Asakura, Berii!" Professor McGonnagal called. Berii got up. The hat was on for about one second and it called: "GRYFFINDOR!" Josh clapped and Berii sat right next to him. "Good to see you!" They both said.
    "Lanes, Terra!"
    Terra got up. She was nervous. Once she had the hat on her, the hat sat there for a few minutes. Then it called: "SLYTHERIN!" Lots of people clapped except Johann, Josh and Marina. They just looked at each other sadly. Terra would probably be even more sad. When Josh looked at her, he was pretty sure he saw a tear.
    "Fletcher, Brendan!"
    The hat sat on him for a second and then called "SLYTHERIN!" Now they were all unhappy! While everyone was clapping, they were all thinking the same thing: Great! That creep is in the same house as Terra!
    "Linin, Karli!" Professor McGonnagal called. There were about ten more students left after her. Like everyone, the Professor sat the hat on Karli. The hat sat for a minute. It then called "GRYFFINDOR!" Everyone clapped and cheered like always. Karli sat down next to Josh. Josh then whispered: "Was it tossing up between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor?"
    Karli leaned over too. "Yeah! You?"
    "Yep!"

    Dumbledore gave his speech of the usual: "Stay out of the Forbidden Forest, Filch has asked me to remind you... excetera!"
    Everyone then ate dinner. It was great in Josh's opinion!
    Josh then talked to Karli and Marina about the stuff he ate at the muggle orphanage. It was very disgusting!

    After the feast, everyone went off to their dorms. Josh and Berii sat by the fire playing Wizard's Chess, while Karli watched. She thought the game interesting.
    "I hope Hogwarts will be fun!" Josh said checkmating Berii.
    "Yeah I hope!" Berii replied then packing up the game.
    "I think many things will happen at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry!" said Karli walking up to the girls dorm.
    "Yeah!" Josh said. "Karli! First years are allowed to go for Quidditch! Are you trying out?"
    "Yes!" she replied. "Chaser! Goodnight!"
    Karli headed off to her dorm as Josh headed off to his. Berii went up to hers a few minutes later.


    Will this split affect the friendship? 'Many things'? What did Karli mean by that? Why did Josh checkmate Berii? Why am I asking questions? Tune in next time to find out more!

    Wow...I like it so far, Batesy!! One little suggestion, and I know it's hard to do because it was a RPG this fic was based on, but you might want to try to dig into the characters' feelings a little more. You know, how each of them is feeling instead of a general overview. Just a suggestion! Good job so far!! I can't wait to read more of it, especially since I was not in the first year RPG.
     
    Great work so far! I have a suggestion to. Dont copy so many things from the movie. I noticed that a little bit while reading it.
     
    Sorry. Had nothing better to write. Just let me check the story a bit more throughly.

    (So, I take it that Brendan wins first place in: Most-Like-Malfoy Awards. XD)
     
    Pretty much yeah! He's the Slytherin boy that always picks on us in the RPGs!
     
    Remember the boy that kept annoying Karli? And that guy I punched? It's him!
     
    Karli punched that dude to later on in the RP. I just didnt know he had a name. XD
