So I've been posting non-stop about my theories about the new game since the Direct was announced, so I want to compile all my thoughts about the game into one post, and would like to hear all of your thoughts!

[PokeCommunity.com] MMH's Complilation of Theories (HM Splash)

    Zygrade
Zygrade got little to no attention in XY and got a lot of attention in the anime. It's not like GF to ignore a Legendary Pokemon like this, especially when it comes to that "Third Legendary". The games are called Sun/Moon which have an effect on the Earth's environment. We could possibly see some involvement with Zygrade in the story, whether it's direct involvement to the story itself or some Post-game story that's a direct consequence of the main story. This could also bring us to the Kalos region as a secondary region to visit, which brings me to my next point...

Kalos - It seems likely that we will be able to visit Kalos in the post-game (and maybe the main story?). There are many unanswered questions with Kalos (Zygrade For instance) and if GF decides to use this other region referenced throughout XY, there's almost certainty we will be able to visit Kalos, perhaps a few years after the story following the protagonists of XY.

Enemy Team - The enemy team this game will most likely have a more darker/complex tone compared to past games. Over the years the stories have gotten darker, with Lysandre trying to take a Pokemons Life Force to essentially fuel a weapon of mass destruction. Game freak Is seemingly basing these games on the Sun/Moon, so there's most likely to be some Intense forces at work, perhaps even reflecting on the major problems of today's world (environmental crisis...?). GF has spent much more time on this game compared to other releases in the past few years (it seems that way at least, as there usually is a 1 year gap between games and this one has a two year gap.) so it's most likely they've spent much more time story-crafting and hopefully expanding on many more elements, some of which could include the team itself. Maybe internal conflicts? Origin stories? Maybe character deaths will become a thing? Yeah that's pretty dark, but that rolls me into my next point...

    Darker Story
Seemingly the stories have been getting darker and reflecting more real world events as time went on (the Weapon of Mass Destruction thing with XF for instance). Also like I said above, GF has been spending a lot of time on this game, so the story will likely be more complex and perhaps even darker compared to previous installments as its involving some pretty intense elements (Planetary Forces with the Sun/Moon?). However this is just theory, we won't know anything until the game comes out, but this seems pretty plausible.

    Sinnoh References
New Generations now a days means a new remake (Aside Gen 5). So could there be a remake? People have speculated that Kanto would be remade but this wouldn't make sense if GF went through the trouble to put RBY on the VC with compatability to Sun/Moon through PokeBank. So Sinnoh would be the obvious option here. DPP did a good job at dropping tiny hints for the Johto remake, which includes the Steel-Type Gym Leader making s cameo. XY did a good job by only giving Third Gen starters ME aside the Kanto starters (which actually added to XY story and for Origins). We may see some cameos from Cynthia since she's into the mythical properties of Pokemon, Or maybe a crisis will emerge that Rowan will be needed for? Who knows,
But I think it's likely we will see Sinnoh jabs here and there (mega fire ape plz).

    DLC
We may see DLC in Sun/Moon. Nintendo has been a bit more ballsy in this past year when it comes to DLC. Pokemon Rumble World and Pokemon Shuffle each have examples of DLC so why not these games? They can easily do something along the lines of adding "Location Based Event Pokemon" back into their newer installments (Such examples of Pokemon is Darkrai or Shaymin from DP). They stopped adding such Pokemon in recent years because hackers exploited these in the very first few days of release (most notably Darkrai) and spoiled the surprise Nintendo/GF wanted to drop on it's fans. However they can just throw a patch out around when a movie is about to air and we then find out we can gain access to this Event Pokemon thanks to this patch (Most likely the patch will just add the item and location into the game's data, you will probably still have to go to some event location such as Gamestop to gain the item to access the area). They can also start putting Shiny-Locked Pokemon as DLC (for like $2.49?) if they wanted too, as they're mainly "collector items" and serve no real "Pay-To-Win" purpose. They could also start selling character customizations that aren't available through normal game play (Lance's Cape? Wallace's Hat?), kind of like Skin DLC packs for many games now a days.

7th Gen in 6th Gen Movie
Nintendo likes to drop 1-2 "next-Gen" Pokemon in a current gen movie to get it's fans hyped and excited for the upcoming generations. This is seen with Mystery of Mew (Lucario), Genesect Awakened (Mewtwo Y), Temple of the Sea (Manaphy), and Zoroark, Master of Illusions (Zoroark). They're also doing the same with their upcoming movie "Volcanion & The Ingenious Magearna". Clearly Volcanion is the Gen 6 Element that's going to tie in a Gen 7 Pokemon (Magearna). This is clearly evident because their is no record in the games what so ever of Magearna and this lines up perfectly with Moon/Sun coming near the end of 2016 (And the new movie is being released at some point in 2016).

We're in the year of the Monkey so a Mega Infernape would fit in nicely (even though Pokémon itself is a Fire Rat). We likely will see Sinnoh hints, even if we might not get remakes this Gen seeing how they skip a system (though some would argue that the GBC was to the GB like the DSi was to the DS). 2019 will be the best year for a remake, as it'll follow the pattern of remakes every 5 years, plus it'll be 10 years since HgSs by that point like OrAs came out ten years after FrLg.

I don't know if they will go by yearly calendars like that considering they skipped a whole year (since they've been releasing a set of games about every year for the past few installments). Considering that ORAS was so successful (Aside that whole "Too much water" BS) I can't help but feel that they may be willing to cork this out within the next 2-3 years.

The previous year off was in 2011 (Japan I mean), and before that was 2008, then 2005, 2001, 1997 so a break every 3-4 years is the norm for Japan, and now we've synched up with those dates.

Anyways, it'll be cool if we get to return to a future or even past Kalos.

It would be really cool to see the after math of the whole Team Flare's plan to basically nuke other countries, and how it affected the region and the "nearby region" (The new region for Gen7?) that it was originally intended for.

If this is gonna be a multi-region game, I'mma cry.

The multi region part of Gen. 2 is the main reason why it's my favorite out of the series.

    Really hope you're right

I don't see why they won't when there's so much to work with given this "unknown region" referenced in XY and the whole Zygrade thing I discussed. There's a lot of potential that can be worked with, that I hope is worked with. I don't want to see another region that has no connections to any other established region (This was seen in BW and XY when they were first released)

    Also nice name haha

Is there a waterfall in real life in any of these places that travels backwards: South France, Egypt, Hawaii, Singapore, Germany, U.K.? Those are the places being speculated as being the basis for the new region.

I'd hope the region in itself will step away from heavily city based and more of a tropical region.

More so than Hoenn was? Hoenn had small towns, especially in the original RSE, and was quite tropical. Or do you mean more rural? I image there will be at least one major big city like Castelia and Lumiose.

Aside the remake, I'm referring to The past 2 Gens (XY and BW) being very urban. More rural would be nice, but something based on Hawaii would be awesome (multiple islands to visit a new city?). Perhaps two islands are dedicated to the Sun and Moon respectively.
