    Would this be any good? 0_o I was thinking about substitute, and it occurred to me that you could use it this way:

    Lapras @ Leftovers
    Nature: Timid
    EV's: Speed (252) Sp. Def (200) HP (56)
    Substitute
    Foresight
    Sheer Cold
    Confuse Ray

    On turn 1 use Substitute. On turn 2, you should use Foresight. Whether your substitute has been broken or not, on turn 3, use Sheer cold. Confuse ray is in there as an added annoyer, but I'm thinking another move could be better... maybe Sing? Maybe not. Anyway, what do you guys think? Would this work?
     
    I'm not quite sure about Foresight... I know that it can be used to make Ghost types attackable by normal and fighting type moves, but I don't think that it can be used just like a Lock-On or Mind Reader. If it can, then your moveset should be able to work :/ ...
     
    Forsight doesn't work like Mind Reader/Lock On, all it does is make Ghost Types be able to be attaced by Normal, and Fighting types (like Torkoal_7 said). Even if it does work, oyu want these EVs and Nature:

    EVs:252 HP, 129 Defence, 129 Sp. def
    Nature:Bold

    That way it can take a few hit's if it it's Sub is broken, like before you use foresight (even though I'm 99% sure it doesn't), becaue you said you'd use it even if your Sub is broken.
     
    um.. this has been outdone by smeargle anyway, even if it works(which it doesn't)

    smeargle
    -spore
    -lock on
    -sheer cold
    -mean look

    of course, it doesn't usually work.. smeargle has to survive the turn it uses mean look, then spore, then lock on and sheer cold....... this easily backfires because smeargle is so fragile. if EVs in defense and bold nature, it becomes too slow...
     
    Thanks guys. You're right, of course... -_- I wish Dugtrio could learn Mindreader/Lock-on... But you guys at least are nicer about it than Serebii, lol. I got flamed badly there. :P And one guy had the sense of humor to point out to me that my Lapras would get owned by a measly Shuckle with Sturdy. :P Anyway, it was just a thought. Thanks for all your insightful replies!
     
    I wasn't talking about Smergle, when I gave the Nature, and EVs.

    You can use Spore first then Lock On, the Sheer Cold, they switch because you pu them to sleep, then you Lock On, the you use Sheer Cold. Either way it might not work, that's what Focus Band is for, so it will at least kill somthing. It will probally work on a newb.    :P

    That's why I hardly go there. =]
