Music Movie / show soundtracks

A good score definitely helps set the mood and get your blood pumping in certain scenes! Do you pay much attention to the soundtracks of movies and shows? Do any of them stand out in particular to you?

Personally, I'm a huge fan of the Game of Thrones score - Ramin Djawadi did an amazing job composing the themes that represent each House: haunting and melancholic for the Starks, Daenerys' theme starts off soft and subdued, then builds into a thundering war theme, very proud and regal track for Robert (technically KL Baratheon theme, but I only think of Robert when I hear it :P), etc.

When it comes to movie and tv soundtracks, they happen to be one of my favorites. On my iPod some of the music I have is from the following soundtracks:

Aladdin
Atlantis The Lost Empire
The Avengers (Marvel)

love a good score. one of my favorite pieces of scoring (or, a song written for the film at least) is Kavinsky's 'Nightcall'. amazing song, and when taken in the context of the film (Drive) it's absolutely insane and has led to me driving around at night thinking I'm cooler than I actually am more times than I can count.

Stranger Things had a really cool score as well, now that I think about it. your profile picture reminded me. Blade Runner is another notoriously incredible fucking soundtrack. I guess I like lots of '80s or '80s sounding things.

Soundtracks were my first real exposure to music and I just love a good soundtrack. I was just listening to part of the Mad Max: Fury Road soundtrack earlier. Good stuff. Great to play while driving.

There's a really great piece from the movie Sunshine. I know I've heard it used in trailers for other movies because it's just a really solid piece of movie score.

Spoiler:

Ramin Djawadi

He did a fantastic job for Pacific Rim. Love that soundtrack to death.

That opening bit, aaahhh, so good. I just wish I could get the soundtrack from somewhere other than iTunes.

I'm a sucker for a good soundtrack. I could try to name all of my favorites but that would take ages so I'll just give you the first one that came to mind when I opened the thread:

The Mission - soundtrack: Ennio Morricone

Actually while I'm mentioning good ol' Ennio, y'all seen The Legend of 1900? Love that stuff.

I do definitely appreciate good soundtracks

Thus I have several soundtracks or singular OP/ED songs from various Anime such as Shugo Chara, Ah! My Goddess, Cardcaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon, Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha, Serial Experiments Lain, Soul Eater, Valkyria Chronicles, Mahou Sensei Negima, Fairy Tail, Digimon, and the Pokemon (Diamond and Pearl Game soundtrack).

I definitely enjoy A/V content way more if the soundtrack had some serious thought and effort put into it. Usually epic soundtracks are so amazing <3
