- Which Pokemon are not available in Yellow, without trading from other versions?
Raichu, Meowth, Persian, Magmar, Ekans, Arbok, Electabuzz, Weedle, Kakuna, Beedrill, Koffing, Weezing, Jynx.
Ekans and Arbok Vs. Sandshrew and Sandslash
Sandslash can be obtained in yellow, and is generally more common. Ekans and Arbok are more rare making red a better choice.

For this one, we'll look at stats. Mankey has a higher base total of 260 vs. Meowth's 250. In fact Mankey is higher all around. Meowth has a higher catch rate, but Mankey isn't bad. Mankey is also a bit more rare, which adds points.

Oddish line Vs. Bellsprout line:
Oddish is more common, and bellsprout has higher stats.

Vulpix line Vs. Growlithe line:
Growlithe is a bit more rare, and it has great stats.
