    I was just thinking that some people here have more than 1 name here.

    Came to me because just before I read a post by a fella with 15 posts, he had 6 Green things of reputation - How?

    I know people give out rep by what you say, etc, so it could all be legit, but I've seen alot of people with very high rep who haven't even hit 100 posts yet, some of which joined in January.

    So maybe admins/mods might wanna do some IP checking.

    Kinda weird since I've been here for a while (2-3 months) and I've got 2 little Green things, and over 500 posts, and someone can pretty much pop up like last week and have basically full rep.

    It is because people with super high rep give them rep and it boosts them up to like 4 blips.

    It's just rep sharing.I'll give you rep if you ive me rep.That kinda stuff.We have had many topics like this.We warn and warn and warn, but the don't are so there isn't much we can do but warn, or have it turned off.

    Ah.

    I didn't know giving rep went by how high your rep is.

    Well.

    Questions answered.

    I know there are several people on PC with enough rep power to give about 2 or 3 rep bars. o_o; It really depends on who decides to rep you. ^^; Don't pay it any mind, though, rep is fairly unimportant in the grand scheme of... well... anything. o_O;

    It depends on the posts you made but I do get it.It also depends on the person giving you rep.One rep could give you 6 blocks.Like I gave you rep and you got 2 blocks.Many people give out too much rep for no reason.

    The true use for rep was set taht if the user posted something good, and you liked it you would give them good rep, now how many rep he gets depends on how high the giver's rep is. And the same goes when giving bad rep. If you don't like the post, you can give bad rep, but this is usually abused by members.

    Pleople give me rep for no reason ^^ I don't mind! And yeah, just like when people have 38 posts and are a mod with tons of rep and joined yesterday, That makes me mad!

    Oh, and people are perfectly entitled to rep themselves via other accounts, it isn't against the rules ^^;

    I'm not against it or anything it's just weird.

    *shakes head* There are only three rules with the rep system:

    1) You can't give rep to the same post more than once.
    2) You can't give rep to the same person more than twice a day.
    3) You can't give out more than 12 reps to posts per day.

    Sadly, most PC members ignore the true purpose of the rep system, and give out reputation on completely random posts. That's how the guy you mentioned somehow ended up with 6 blocks. *sighs* I wish people wouldn't abuse it... >_>;

    Okay I get it now.

    I also noticed I got 3 reps and it went up 4 bars.

    So it's obviously some kind of points system that does it when you rep people right?

    Anyway, I think there is another rule: You have to spread rep around before giving it to the same person.

    Does anyone know how much or anything?

    Yes, this is in a rep FAQ >< But I will answer.

    1) You need to rep 10 other people [I think] before repping that same person.
    2) I think... divide your rep by 30. Then that number is how much rep you give a person [good rep]. Bad rep power is 1/60 of your rep points.

    Ya it's just thru pointless rep giving. It's probably the case that a regular member here had changed names, but asked their friends to give them a lot of rep once they had re-joined with the new name to boost their rep back up or something >.> pointless, as rep doesn't mean much, but they still do it
