Music Club (please read first post before joining)

It's interesting how skating is connected to both punk (and related styles) and hip-hop, and hip-hop is related to rap, yet "gangstas" can't get along with skaters...
 
I don't associate skaters with the hip-hop genre. I don't think this should be a club where we try to stereotype and stick different social groups into different genres. We ought to be mature enough to realize that such generalizations are unhealthy and that people can listen to whatever the hell they want to listen to. It would be disasterous to the club if our first discussion was about pointing fingers at people saying, "you're a 'gangsta' you like rap" or "you're a 'skater' you like pop-punk." That's just my two cents though. I have a thing or two more to say about this sort of prejudice if that's where the club's conversations lead...
Edit: Check your PM inboxes! I just sent you all a proposal about music distribution amongst ourselves. I think that it's a really sweet idea. It should work out well if everybody wants to contribute.

I agree with ryan. That's also the aims of the music club in my school - try to avoid the stereotypes and view music in a broad way.
 
Yep! I got your message! I think that's a pretty cool idea. I've got plenty of stuff to contribute, including anime and video game music!

What do you mean "if"? It's a great opportunity to get to hear different music and push the popularity of your own favorites. I strongly encourage all to take part. It won't work well if only a few take part.
