    Does anyone know the reason why the Music Request Thread has gone?

    I want that Thread back! :surprised:

    Does anybody fell the same?
     
    Yes, I do...I cry every night over it's dissappearance! Those evil mods. I also liked Video Requests. Anyway, I'm still willing to help, just PM me or post on my profile or something.

    Questions: Why is a Music Request Thread allowed in Japanese Eneterainment seciton and not here? People ask for Japanese Pokemon songs there! Madness!
    - If bmgf are allowed one, why aren't we?

    I didn't know there was a Japanese Music Thread in Japanese Eneterainment section, why don't we all convince the mods to bring back the Music Thread.:rambo:
     
    My understanding is that it fell under the same rules as the Episode Clip forum. Hey, take it up to the admins, though, I wish you well on that.

    Anything else, I'll defer to Unown or anything else in charge. I wish I could do something about this, but I don't think I can. I feel so useless. Sighs.

    Probably wouldn't be a good idea to promulgate about the PMs, yeah?

    I am shocked at the false advertising! I want to request episode clips, etc.! I've been meaning to bring that up for a while XD Taken today. But, y'know, the reason I used to come here so much was the music request thread!

    Hmm I'm not sure asking the admin responsible would work because another admin said it was the 1st admins decision and had been thinking about it for a while. Sunain complaining that Kaze no Message was #PMs was the last straw, apparently (even though the one he took down WASN'T.) Urgh.

    I agree; it's a mess. The problem is the legal rights -- look what happened with ShoPro and that Pokemonica (was that the site, I forget the name, at the moment). You want that happening here?

    So, yeah, it sucks, believe me, as I miss it, too. But, I have to move on.

    Different legal issues/copyrights, and take it up with them. Honestly, it's apples and oranges, at this point.

    As for getting them to fix the sign; go for it. If I could fix it myself, I would.

    The decision of removing such threads is indeed to avoid legal pursuit. We're a Pokémon forum, so we're definitely going to be targeted for streaming Pokémon content. (At the moment though, it's moreso about episodes being distributed that ShoPho are pursuing.)

    PC's server doesn't reside in Japan, so most of the music distribution in that thread is safe until it gets licensed in the States.


    1. People can ask for them there so long as they are Japanese, and legally, such Japanese Pokémon songs are not used in the United States. That means that any background music that's played so far in the anime is not legal, where Kimi no Soba de and Kaze no Message, or other vocal Pokémon songs, can legally be distributed since our server isn't from Japan.
    2. We're not BMGf. We're also not liable unlike them if they keep their thread up.

    That's crazy. So Japanese copyrights count for nothing? I also don't understand how #PocketMonsters seem to go unnoticed
     
    But they're still going, they're recently released a sub. I'm not arguing for the thread coming back, I'm just saying.

    Yeah I gonna have to agree with Jorah on this one, I don't really see how the japanese athorites are gonna check every pokemon fourm especialy this one.

    Mabie they got the wrong Idea about legal rights regarding signed songs and BGMs.

    Well, we're not a Serebii.net or Bulbagarden, so anonymity may be a good thing. Either way, I don't want those lawyers near me.

    And if you have to PM, just don't make a to-do about it. Whoo.

    Well, I dunno, I a Spanish Pokemon site recently got taken down. They had trouble with Nintendo or something about video clips and probably music...if Spanish ones are getting taken down, I'm sure people must be snooping around English sites. I mean, I'm sure some companies must be starting to hire people to look around the internet for their stuff...
