Here's the team I use in the Battle Tower in SoulSilver. Just thought I'd put it up for ratings.

Infernape @Expert Belt
Naive Nature / Ability: Blaze
EVs: 64 Atk / 252 SpAtk / 192 Spe
-Flamethrower
-Close Combat
-Earthquake
-Grass Knot
Flamethrower and Close Combat for STAB. Grass Knot hits its Water/Rock/Ground weakness set. Earthquake gets excellent coverage with Close Combat. Expert Belt is a nice compromise between the Life Orb and Choice Items: no recoil, and no being locked into a single move, but it does give a power boost.
Garchomp @Leftovers
Adamant Nature / Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
-Swords Dance
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake
-Fire Fang
Garchomp is awesome. Dragon Claw + Earthquake grants perfect neutral coverage, and Fire Fang hits Steels that resist Earthquake and Dragon Claw (aka Skarmory). Swords Dance increases the amount of OHKOs, with Leftovers to increase survivability.
Starmie @Life Orb
Timid Nature / Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Recover
Starmie is my Special Sweeper, and can absorb incoming Ice attacks aimed at Garchomp, as well as Psychic and Water attacks aimed at Infernape. Surf for STAB plus the BoltBeam combo for great overall coverage. Recover heals off Life Orb recoil. Natural Cure heals off any status problems.
