I recall on the locked "Best Luxray" thread that Smarties-kun said he would like to see more pokemon analysis threads, made by more experienced players. Sounds like a challenge. Here's my Vileplume-2 sets.

Unlike the locked thread, I'm open to ALL advice, as long as its not "Vileplume Sucks!", as those are all useless.

    Vileplume@Black Sludge
    Nature:Calm
    Energy Ball
    Hidden Power [Rock]
    Stun Spore/Synthesis
    Aromatherapy
    EV:252 HP, 124 SP.ATK, 136 SP.DEF

My current set. Covers weaknesses with Rock, and acts as a cleric.

    Sunnybeamer
    Vileplume@Heat Rock
    Nature:Timid
    Sunny Day
    Solarbeam
    HP [Fire]
    Synthesis/Aromatherapy/Stun Spore
    EV:252 SPEED, 252 SP.ATK, 6 SP.DEF

Classic Sunnybeamer, with boosted HP FIRE. Now the last move is optional Synthesis leads to 100% heal in Sunlight. With Speed doubled, you can paralyze all too quickly. Lastly, he can still be an Aromatherapist.

    Opinions are welcome as needed.

vileplume doesn't need timid nature. it can do modest... remember, sunny day DOUBLES its speed. also, you should give Sunnybeaming vileplume sleep powder because fire types completely wall it, so it's easier to set them to sleep before they wreak complete havoc on your whole team with double STAB fire attacks.

Timid?! What the hell? My bad. But thanks for the post. I'm glad there's another Vileplume lover!

I like the sunny-beamer. I was tempted to make my roserade that way xD but I chose mixed sp. attacks. to stop all weaknesses. and take the STAB opportunity.

I edited the first post. I meant to say Hidden Power Rock. Rock hits all weaknesses.

    Vileplume!

The Sunnybeamer is a classic. Except I use Black Sludge on it and really didn't see the need of EV training it in Spd. I don't know... you should think it over.

If i could get my hands on that Pokemon Center Vileplume, I'd do this. I doubt it's a killing machine, but just for flavor:

    Vileplume @ Big Root
    Calm
    - Leech Seed
    - Substitute
    - Protect / Sleep Powder
    - Sludge Bomb / Giga Drain

    Bumping this up for Yanmega

I use the first set, although Sunnybeamer is popular.
