Okay, I've made up my mind, and I want a good physical-sweeping set for my Blaziken. Only thing is, I can't make up my mind on the moves. First I'll throw you what I've got so far, and what I'm thinking about it.

    Blaziken
    Adamant
    252 - Attack
    252 - Speed
    6 - HP

    Close Combat
    Thunderpunch
    Blaze Kick/Flare Blitz
    Brave Bird/Shadow Claw/Stone Edge

It's the last two slots I'm really not sure about.

I know I want a fire type attack, so it's gonna either be Blaze Kick or Flare Blitz. The only thing is, I don't know if Blaziken's speed/defenses could support the recoil damage Flare Blitz would dish out, and I don't know if Blaze Kick would be tough enough.

The third slot I'm really wondering about. Brave Bird is a powerful move, but I really can't think of any type it'd give me a serious advantage over (other than other Blazikens and Infernapes, but Close Combat should be enough for them.), while Shadow Claw, though not very strong, would give me something to use on Psychic and Ghost types. Stone Edge would be tougher, and good on certain Flying or Fire combos that the rest of the moves couldn't handle.

Of course, none of these moves are totally set in stone, they can be swapped out if someone gives me some better ideas. I just wanna see what everyone else has to say. Also, if my EV spread doesn't seem sufficient, feel free to critique it as well. I haven't officially started training my Torchic yet.

See, Blaziken isn't fast enough to take out ghosts unless you scarf it, so take out shadow claw...use flare blitz IMO, power=better on sweepers. I'd go stone edge honestly, beats those flying types. Scarfing it might not be a bad idea...good EVs BTW.

Oh, didn't see that. In that case, brave bird might be in your best interest...though if you scarf it, consider shadow claw for gengar like you said...

Would it be a bad idea to have both Brave Bird and Flare Blitz? Would that just bring in too much recoil damage?

Well, I don't think Brave Bird is really required, as it doesn't offer a lot of type coverage, even though it can deal damage to Infernape, Salamence, and Gyarados, but Stone Edge already takes care of the last two. Recoil damage is a big no for me, though it is your choice, but I'd rather just go with one move instead of both.

Blaziken can be a Baton Passer if u ppl haven't noticed 0.0 of course its too slow.

You have to Choice Scarf it really good.

You can give it Flamethrower, it covers some physical walls that can EQ it drop.

i throw mine in on walls like *insert wall here* and use agility while they switch *insert wall here* out.
    it works everytime.
    heres my set:

    Blaziken @Life Orb
    252 Speed/148 Sp Att/110 Att
    Lonely Nature
    -Flametrhower
    -Sky Uppercut
    -Thunderpunch/Rock Slide
    -Agility

this is a mixed sweeper set, and its probably the best set for him.
flamethrower and sky uppercut for stab.
sky uppercut since he cant learn close combat.
flamethrower for skarmory and sky uppercut for blissey.
if you are scared of gyarados give him thunderpunch, if not, rock slide covers more.
and agility to make him pretty much equal to infernape.
infernape definately outclasses him, but blaziken looks so much cooler i think hes worth using.
    :)
just kidding, if you get an agility in blaziken is probably better since he has better offenses.

if you really wanted a physical sweeper, use this:

    Blaziken @Life Orb
    EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature
    -Flare Blitz
    -Sky Uppercut
    -Stone Edge/Rock Slide
    -Thunderpunch

stone edge if you want xtreme power, rock slide if you want more reliable power.
he can pull off the phys sweeper with his power but hes just so slow, he'll probably die fast trying to sweep...

Recoil damage is great for getting it's hp down to activate blaze.

Is a physical sweeper with this set (basically switch the EVs and put Flare Blitz in instead of Flamethrower, as well as change the nature to Jolly) just not enough to handle Skarmory? Even if I poured more power into his Attack, would it still not be enough to 1HKO a typical Skarmory?

I personally have never seen a Skarmory OHKO by a Physical Attack.

I did it once with a Swords Danced/Sporing/Focus Punching Breloom. Used SD three times before on other pokes as I FPed through their sleeping bodies, then I got to Skarmory, and repeated the process. One hit.

Lol SD 3 times kills anything

Is it at all possible to get Thunderpunch on Blaziken in D/P, or am I gonna have to do all of this in Emerald, and then move it over to D/P?

Oh, and in case I haven't said it yet, thanks a lot for all of your input everybody. It's all really helpful!

Sorry, gotta go on Emerald. Muhahahahahaha!!!

Blast. That's what I was afraid of... I guess I can get him evolved, get him TP, then send him over... I have Pokerus on D/P, so it speeds up the EV process soooo much...

Well, if you're worried about skarm, implement fire blast or flamethrower on it...and yes, Tpunch is only in emerald, but it is far worth it to hit water types.
