my pokemon sapphire had the berry bug, but it worked fine for the months i owned it until i linked it up with my bro's ruby version, which also had the berry bug, when after many successful link battles, i turned the game on again and to my shock it gave a message on the game being erased!! and now it only says 'new game,' not continue! i'm a guy who spends a lot of hours raising pokemon, and thankfully this loss wasn't as bad as it would have been if i lost the 100 pokemon i raised to level 100 without cheating back in the blue and gold versions, but i still lost everything i had worked for in my sapphire version, and i'd like to know why, but most importantly if there's someway nintendo could resurrect the data, or at least 'artificially' give me back the closest thing to what my memory tells me i had, which they should be able to do considering they programmed the game
in the lost game, i had caught almost all of the pokemon, had tons of money and items that i don't miss so much, and had the main pokemon i used, about 8-10 of them, at around level 90 each
i wonder what happened and if i could get the stuff back in any way.. i cant imagine a single video game in history in which data loss can be more devastating than in the pokemon series and should be most protected against faultiness and errors, besides of course for games that are more like programs, like the rpg maker series, but i digress
