    Yeah so I'm starting a new game on both my saphire and my emerald and I want to experiment with teams a little and have no legendaries:

    Planned sapphire team:
    Blaziken
    Ludicolo << Mainly just grass moves no water (May surf, doubt it.)
    Manectric
    Swalot
    Sharpedo
    Skarmory

    Planned emerald team:
    Swampert
    Masquerian
    Breloom
    Seviper
    Cacturne
    Tropius <<< Hm Slave

    What do you think? Remember I'm just experimenting.

    I think you are taking few risks with your team, but at least it will make it challenging. Observations:

    - Don't wait for Hydro Pump. Stick with Surf for the accuracy. The extra power doesn't make up for a miss.
    - Ludicolo/Sharpedo not good on the same team.
    - Swalot? Really? This must be some experiment.
    - Great choice with Breloom. Tropius? Not so much. Swellow is BEGGING to be on this team.

    Good luck.

    lol thanks, I would have swellow but...I've had swellow on every sapphire/emerald I've ever done...I need a change :P, I chose tropius for the flying type advantages..Namely fly.

    And yeah i guess i shouldn't hold out for hydro pump.

    Sharpedo is for psychic types aswell as other types vulnerable to dark or water, Whilst Ludicolo never learns a water move until surf...But it learns alot of leaf type moves.

    And Swalot pwns..... :P .....Nah i'm just testing it out xD

    No, no, no, no, no. PLEASE don't use Fly as a serious attack. That is what an HM slave is for, which coincidently Tropius is an EXCELLENT choice for. Tropius and and Wailmer are all you need for HM goodness:

    Tropius
    HM01 - Cut
    HM02 - Fly
    HM04 - Strength
    HM05 - Flash

    Wailmer
    HM03 - Surf
    HM06 - Rock Smash
    HM07 - Waterfall
    HM08 - Dive

    Pelipper is also a good HM slave as it can learn both Surf and Fly.

    You don't need to worry about Psychic-types in RSE. You would be more efficient hitting them with STAB physical attacks to take advantage of their weaker Def than thinking you have to have a Dark-type on your team. You absolutely don't, unless it is Tyranitar or Umbreon. Fire and Dark-types are very easily covered, along with Poison and Electric. A Calm Mind Gardevoir with Thunderbolt makes the weak Electric-types in the game worthless.

    As far as experimenting goes, this would be decent, but I would make a few changes. First, either remove sharpedo or lombre. You don't want to repeat types in a challenge like this. If you haven't tried it yet, you could raise a banette or a dusclops. Just a suggestion, though.
    As for the second team, I would not suggest using Grumpig. He was on one of my teams and he was pretty useless. He has a lack of good moves and poor stats to back up what he can learn. I'd suggest (for a challenge) a girafarig, lunatone/solrock or a xatu. However, if you use xatu, don't use a tropius as well. Breloom doesn't learn many grass type moves, so I can understand how you have them both on the same team, but I'd try avoiding doing that. A good replacement could be a cacturne if you wanted to keep the two grass types.
    This is just a suggestion though.

    Never, ever use tropius. it is completely useless, unless it is an hm slave. it probably would be fine playing through the game, but it fails epicly in the metagame, believe me, I tried to prove that it wasnt the worst thing since luvdisc to one of my friends last year, I was wrong.

    I've edited the teams.

    I think they're better now...

    A Ludicolo without a Water move is a very sad Ludicolo. A Water/Grass-type is something you want to take advantage of, not limit. It's your team though.

    Manectric
    Swalot
    Sharpedo
    Skarmory

    Blaziken = fine
    Ludicolo = One water move to none makes Ludicolo rather... well... not good
    It needs a water move to take advantage of fire types.
    Manetric = fine
    Swalot = Rubbish. Swalot is a rubbish Pokemon with rubbish (well not as rubbish)moves.
    Sharpedo = Somewhat good. I challenged the E4 with it and it proved quite useful in.
    Skarmory = fine (to be honest I've wanted one for ages and not one to be found in the sooty path)

    Planned emerald team:
    Swampert
    Masquerian
    Breloom
    Seviper
    Cacturne
    Tropius <<< Hm Slave

    Swampert = Best starter IMO.
    Masquerian = fine
    Breloom = A good Dynamicpunch Pokemon.
    Seviper = fine
    Cacturne = okay if you want that double grass type in there. I suggest that it or Breloom is gone though, in return for an Ice type =D Good agains Dragon - Drake therefore.
    Tropius = good HM slave. Only good for that though.
