Well at this point in time I have 7 badges and am on the verge on battling the galactic saturn and the galactic boss. It has just hit me that my pokes seeem a little weak...Here are my current pokes...

Blissey lv 42 (has exp share)
    Infernape lv 40
    Honchkrow lv39
    Kadabra lv34
    Gyrados lv32
    Machoke lv29

Since about the 6th badge, ive only been training the top 3. Kadabra and gyrados have been a little in between and the machoke ive given up on... I am not sure what pokes I should get in order to get a bit stronger. I want to stay away from legendaries... The best poke I have in my box is probably a level 22 gastly... Just looking for some advice!

Just train them up. Otherwise you will just get beat soon in the game. It might not be the best bit of the game, but you will have to just spent some time traning them up. Work on the back 4,
Honchkrow, Kadabra,Gyrados and Machoke. Then you will have a good team!

Machoke is a nightmare. It seems so powerful when you fight others, but when the tables are turned it's the weakest pokemon on your team. Most likely due to it's low defense and high attack, but still, it sucks.

The only answer I have for you is just to train them. Pick up a powerful wild poke just outside of the last city or Victory road and add them to your team, maybe. THen go back and fight some wilds or see if you skipped any trainers.

Just a hint: Trade Evolve Pokemon like Kadabra and Machoke... As soon as they evolve into their second forms, TRADE EVOLVE THEM RIGHT AWAY. It really helps their stat growth, since all their stats jump up quite a bit without actually levelling up, as is true for any evolution.

Fact: A level 100 Kadabra that just evolved into an Alakazam and a level 100 Kadabra evolved into Alakazam at 16, provided their EVs and IVs are the same, will have equal stats.

His prokemon will be stronger now, but keep in mind in the long run, it makes no difference.

Are there any certain wild pokes that I should be on the lookout for at this point that would be a huge pickup?

wow im just about to get my 7th badge and my team is
    Torterra (43)
    Staraptor (43)
    Gyarados (43)
    Alakazam (45)
    Riolu (21) has exp share
    Bibarel (30) HM slave

O_o my method of raising my Pokemon is raise up my starter until I catch something, then raise it up to that level, then raise my starter up 2 levels and the other Pokemon, so on and so fourth. I usually break the trend after defeating the elite four.I think my Turtwig was level 10 when I decided to catch a Shinx, raised it to level 10 then raised Turtwig to 12 and so forth. (now my Torterra is level 64 IIRC but I have been raising other Pokemon.)

Well, I'd replace Machoke since Infernape is already a fighting type. Switch it for either an electric or ground type I'd say to make your team more balanced.

Okay, aside from the low levels, your team is actually pretty good. First off, level up your Machoke to at least level 35. Then bring the rest up there. Then to 40, then 45. It will take a bit, but it will definitely help in the long run.

And once you catch Dialga (assuming you have Diamond, since you've got Honchkrow), please, please, please use him, don't let such a great Pokemon go to waste. He's got very few weaknesses, and don't say, "Well, he's legendary, I don't use them." There's a reason why people use them, and it's because they are good! So use him. Please.

However, like Altosax said, you can get rid of Machoke (preferably replace with Dialga) for another Pokemon. Go out and catch a Shinx or Luxio, but don't evolve them until they learn Discharge. That will make a good replacement.

    Hope this all helps.

You kiddin' me? Not to sound like a jerk... but using legendaries, especially in-game, is a noobish quality. My theory in actual battles is that, unless by mutual consent, legendaries should NEVER be used. Sure, you can use him... but that makes things easy.

Gyarados has gotten some criticism, but I'm starting to admire him... he's decent all around, except when up against an electric attack. Machamp has beasty Attack, however his low defenses, and in particular his terrible speed, renders him completely useless. Any poke meant to be a sweeper, if he has really bad defenses, should ALWAYS be fast enough to outrun the enemy, otherwise your efforts have gone to waste. And 8/10 times, Machamp will not get the first hit. I use a Rampardos on my in-game team; like Machamp, he has beasty Attack, but low defenses. However, Rampardos has amazingly good Speed, giving him the upper hand. The formula looks something like this:

High Attack + High Speed = Advantage

High Attack + Low Speed = you suck

Unless, of course, the Poke has the defense to pull off a low speed stat.

Alright well I finally beat the boss... Got teh Diagla.... Traded for a Haunter.... I also got the egg from the Island..What does that turn into?
So here are is the team right no....
    Diagla lv47
    Blissey lv44
    Honchkrow lv44
    Infernape lv44
Haunter lv42 (no gengar?! i dont want to train this thing anymore)
    Kadabra lv34
    Gyrados lv33
    Machoke lv 30 (hm slave)

I am willing to go out and get a shinx. I am not sure whether or not to use the diagla or not. Without it, my team is not that amazing.

Well I caught one of the mirage pokemon... The one by sunnyshore... My egg hatched into the Riolu and saw the poke into evolves in, and I am deciding to train it. I like it a lot. I feel like my pokes are becoming very strong, and I have not decided whether I will proceed with the Diagla or not... I dont wanna be a noob... lol

    Thanks all
