Bullsh!t. May as well write this.
Why the fuk should I write something if no one will actually post a positive comment? It seems people can only put down things like "SHADING IS NEEDED" when it isn't. If you want to keep the original shading why is that not a Revamp? Also I LIKE the black lines on Blastoise and there are so many black lines I wouldn't have bother colouring all of them anyway. If you didn't like the way my tutorial was written write your own FUK!NG one. Revamp is a simple thing. Colour this, colour that. Change the shading if you want. That's about it. You can add colour to the lines but it's not entirely necessary. Other people may THINK you have to shade it differently and add colour to the lines but you don't. I prefer original shading. It looks more old school.

You have the nerve to revamp a sprite and not even make the black lines other colors besides black?? No revamp can be called a revamp without colorful lines. People have been leaving the lines black lately. sigh.....

WHAT THE FUK? 1) That's a FUK!ING opinion. 2) My sprites did have coloured lines. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's there. Do some FUK!ING research on something you're criticizing.

To be honest, your tutorial could do with a lot of improvement, particularly your comment on custom shading being optional when it is arguable that it is in fact the most important part of a revamp due to the differences in shading styles throughout the generations. You attempt to contribute to the forum is appreciated, but unfortunately it doesn't really meet the standards that other tutorials have met.

Your tutorial really could use some improvement... well, a lot of improvement. Your images don't reflect your instructions in several of the steps, and it's basically just stating the obvious. "Recolor this, now this, and then this part here, and then you're done, but feel free to shade it if you want." That isn't really helpful. You should go into much greater detail, and make it focus less on your sprite, and more about revamping in general. And as Amachi said, shading is always necessary, at least to some extent. A good tutorial would explain the shading styles of different generations and games, so that the finished sprite's shading would be similar to official sprites of that game.

On a side note, your shading could use some improvement. To be honest, I like the version that was just recolored better. :x The stomach and leg shading are awkward and kinda... choppy? I dunno the word I'm looking for. The shell is decent, though :3

    Also, way too much black.
