[Other] Mythology + Pokemon?

I've just started a new hack that currently doesn't have a name. Its a Pokémon Emerald hack that I want to combine Pokémon and Greek Mythology. The idea itself is still in basic form as this is my first attempt at a hack. I desperately need the help of some seasoned veterans. What Program do I need to be able to change the text in the games? I also wanted to include a few completely new pokemon in there... they are going to be non attainable until possibly later in the game but to begin, I need to know how to create them... HELP!!!

You should check out the Tools, Tutorials and Resources section. There are plenty of tools and tutorials available there, and useful directory threads that provide links to all the basic tools you will need to start out on a ROM hack.
