Yeah, This is my first fic here, so if I miss anything help me out alright?
Fic is rated pg-13 for violence, but basically if you watch the naruto series than you should be alright with this level of action.
Title the desert fox
It was currently ten at night and anko was returning home from guard duty. She sighed, these people didn't appreciate her at all. She risked her life everyday for these jerks and all they would do was spit at her and insult her because of who her sensei was. These people would never change, why did she even stay here anyway?
Anko was broken out of her thoughts by some disturbance in the alley below the building she was on. She stopped and looked down into it to see what the noise was coming from. What she saw sickened her, a mob of villagers and shinobi had a young boy cornered against a wall and were trying to beat the boy to death. Deciding that she wouldn't stand around and let a child be beaten any longer, she jumped off of the building and into the alley.
Naruto was NOT having a good day today; first, he was kicked out of the orphanage for something he didn't even do, though it wasn't that he liked that place that only fed him twice per week anyway, and now he was cornered in an alley and about to be beaten by another mob.
Naruto knew from past experiences that there was no trying to reason with or escape the mob once he was trapped, so he backed up against a wall, pulled his legs up to his chest to protect it, covered his face and hoped it would be over soon.
When he didn't feel anyone trying to injure him, naruto uncovered one eye and looked to see what was happening. What he saw surprised him, a purple haired woman had jumped in front of him and had lodged a kunai in the throat of the person closest to him.
"Alright," he heard her say, "why don't you back off and stop trying to attack defenseless children. Is that all you can do, just insult and attack people who are different from you?"
"Hey, that's that snake woman, orochimaru's student," one man shouted, "let's get her too."
As two men ran forward to attack her, naruto saw snakes shoot out of her sleeves and latch onto their necks. Just as he was starting to think that he might be safe, two cloaked men with animal masks on ran into the alley.
Anko was about to breathe a sigh of relief at the two anbu showing up when someone shouted out "hey orochimaru's old assistant is trying to protect the demon, can you three help us out some?"
"I see," the anbu in the middle said as he drew his sword, "step aside then, we'll take care of this."
As the anbu ran forward towards her, she drew a second kunai and slipped into a fighting stance. The anbu swung his sword down at her, hoping to split her skull, but she slid to the left and parried with the kunai in her right hand while swinging the one in her left hand at the guy's arm. The guy jumped back, only to have anko launch a goukakyuu at him.
When the fire cleared, it revealed a huge rock wall that had risen in front of the anbu. Anko tossed three more kunai at it, which was destroyed by the explosive tags attached to them. When the wall fell the anbu member jumped at her. Anko dodged and plunged a kunai into the side of the anbu, who proceeded to poof. Suddenly anko flew back as his foot connected with her stomach. She got up to see the other two anbu members had joined their comrade, who she noticed was nowhere to be seen.
As she was looking for the missing anbu, she heard something behind her. She spun around to see the anbu with his sword at her neck, and another anbu, one wearing a dog mask, with a ball of lightning shoved through the first one's chest. Seeing no threat to her she spun back around, to see two fireballs a bit smaller than hers was coming at her. She jumped backwards and used chakra to stick to the wall, but the two fireballs were stopped by a wall of mud. From her vantage point on the wall she could see the hokage and four anbu standing behind the crowd.
"Arrest all of them, and take the two remaining anbu in to ibiki for interrogation. Kakashi, I want you to escort anko and naruto to my office." the hokage ordered. The four anbu detained everyone in the mob, and took them off and the dog anbu, now identified as kakashi, put his hand on her shoulder.
"Come with me", he said before turning around to face naruto, "come on, naruto." Kakashi put a hand on naruto's shoulder, and shunshined to the inside of the hokage's office. Naruto walked over and sat down on the couch, and a minute later anko and the hokage appeared in the office as well.
"You can go now, kakashi" the hokage told the ninja with the dog mask.
"Yes, sir," kakashi said as he poofed away.
"So," the hokage started as he turned back to the other two occupants of the room, "tell me what happened."
An hour later.
"So naruto has been attacked by villagers since he was born AND was kicked out of the orphanage today, because of something he had no control over?" anko asked, now even more pissed than she was when she first found naruto cornered by the mob.
The hokage sighed, "that's right. I'm getting too old for this" the last part he said under his breath.
"Kid kinda reminds me of myself," anko said, getting an idea, "hey, why don't you let me adopt him? Since he's out on the street and I'm one of the only ones who really understands his condition. Plus, he's like me in a way, because almost everyone else hates him for something he had no say in."
The hokage looked up, clearly surprised. "Are you sure it's a good idea for you to adopt him?"
A vein popped up on anko's forehead, "are you saying I wouldn't make a good mother?", anko asked in a falsely sweet voice that promised a long, painful death if the wrong answer was given.
The hokage gulped, "no, it's just that-"
"Great, then get me the paperwork and we'll be done with the deal" anko interrupted. She spun around in her chair to face naruto, "hey naruto, how would you like me to adopt you and become your new mother?"
Naruto's face lit up, "really? THAT'D BE AWESOME, BELIEVE IT!", naruto yelled, practically deafening everyone in the room.
"Alright", the hokage sighed again as he got the paperwork ready.
Fifteen minutes later all the paperwork was filled out and naruto and anko were on their way home. It was almost midnight, so no one was out as they walked to anko's apartment. Once they arrived, anko led naruto to her kitchen.
"You must be hungry, so why don't we have some food before we go to sleep for the night?" anko suggested to naruto, who flew to the table so fast she had trouble keeping up with him even with her trained eyes. That matter being settled, anko dug around the refrigerator to see what they could eat. Deciding on cereal, she pulled out some bowls and filled them with cereal and milk.
After they were both done, anko led him to her bedroom. Since his clothes were filthy and she didn't have any clothes for him, she gave him one of her white t-shirts. After they were both changed, she climbed into bed, "since I only have one bed, you'll have to sleep with me."
Once naruto had climbed into bed, anko put her arm around him and said "tomorrow we'll have to go shopping for some stuff for you", and with that they drifted off to sleep.
