4th Gen Need a little help with the Champion

I brought some pretty low level pokemon to this battle (around lvl 40 except Ho-oh who is 47) but I have 2 questions:
Is there anyway to beat Lance with these Pokemon?
Gyarados LVL 42
Pidgeotto LVL 30
Ho-oh LVL 47
Ampharos LVL 40
Typhlosion LVL 43
Dragonair LVL 32

And my next question, if I lose to Lance and leave to get new pokemon or level up my own, will I have to beat the Elite Four again? They werent much of a problem for my pokemon except for Karen with her dark pokemon its just alot of time.

Yes, it is possible to beat Lance with those Pokemon. Buy the Blizzard TM at the Goldenrod Dept. Store, and teach it to your Gyarados. It will take out his each of his Dragonite in one blow! And if you can, do the same with Dragonair. And you should train them more at Victory road, around level 43-45 each. To fight the dark Pokemon, make sure that one of your Pokemon knows fighting types moves. And you can fight off Aerodactyl with your Gyarados's water moves, just make sure it's strong enough to survive it's Thunder Fang. And when fighting Karen's dark Pokemon. Beware of Houndoom, because his Dark Pusle is something to fear when it uses Amnesia. Try your best to take it out as fast as you can.

Seems like the above posts pretty sums up my answer to you as well. =) Though, to answer your second question, yes, if you lose to any of the Elites or Lance, then you will have to start over again from the first Elite. However, if you save before each battle, then you can simply shut off your DS and try at where you are again.
