Need Help Catching Porygon

I've almost completed my pokedex, (not counting legendaries and regional exclusives), but one of the ones I still need is porygon. I've been hatching 5k eggs like crazy and no luck. I have tried the incense trick of activating it in rural areas and hoping rare pokemon spawn. This did get me Snorlax, but no luck with a Porygon. Is there a specific type of area where they spawn? Any tips on catching them? Thank you.

They are rare. Pokemesh can help.

Pokemesh is a tracker that uses GPS hacking to give you spawn points with timers telling you when the pokemon will despawn. Unlike other services that got banned for using the same fake accounts for tens of thousands of users, for pokemesh you need to make your own secondary google and pokemon go account. Never run it on your main account.

So you have one google + pokemon go account that you play, and a second one for pokemesh, and the second one stays level 1 because it does not activate pokestops and does not catch pokemon, it just looks around when you activate pokemesh. It only looks at nearby areas and superimposes the data on a google maps map. That secondary account could get banned, but your main account should be safe.

The old trackers that no longer work used a few fake accounts for thousands of users, causing the fake accounts to generate a lot of traffic and teleporting across nations and continents. Pokemesh uses one fake account per user that you need to create yourself, and only when you decide to use pokemesh, that fake account will slowly check out the areas around you, walking distance, one location at a time, forming a grid.

The idea is that its only lvl1 fake accounts that are not active 24/7 but only when one specific user uses pokemesh, and the movement is not completely whacky but in line with a bike user.

Porygon is very, very rare, i do not think that there is a specific area. I only had one in my nearby-list once, which caused 2 other players to get on their bikes and canvas the nearby areas, with no success.

Why would it get you banned though? Isn't it like using pokevision or pokealert or one of the other many apps? What's the difference?

if you try making a 2nd account to use pokemesh you WILL get your main account banned too, since you are likely to be running it from the same device just signing on and off then niantic can easily track that. the only way to use pokemesh and not get banned would be to have 2 phones and for the one you use pokemesh on not sign on to your home wifi so you always keep it using a different IP from your main account

Just keep hatching eggs; that's how I got mine. It's just luck, and you will get it eventually :)

I caught a Wild Porygon a couple of nights ago ;-)

What were the spawn characteristics you observed?

I hatched my Porygon early on, luckily. But I'm curious, all the same.

I caught a Porygon in my neighborhood in the same place I'd caught a Snorlax. Both have only shown up once in that spot though and usually there is nothing or the same common stuff you find everywhere. But since it's a normal suburban area (not a park, lake, parking lot, etc. etc.) then I have to assume Porygon can show up wherever Normal-types show up.

Not very helpful, I know. Probably better to keep trying with the eggs.

I caught a Snorlax and a Lickitung in exactly the sort of spawn spot you describe... interesting.
