Need help with VisualBoyAdvance! Please!

    I know I'm probably completely missing something but whenever I play a game on VisualBoyAdvance (e.g. Pokemon Emerald) when I close it a PokemonEmerald.sav file appears. I know its a save file so I can start from where I was, but how to I use it? If I drag it onto the VisualBoyAdvance.exe file nothing happens, if I double-click it it says it cannot be opened... how do I use it? Am I supposed to 'convert' the .sav file to something else? I'm really confused and want to know how to save my games! I can't find it out anywhere else! Help!
     
    If you save the game with the game normally, then when you load the ROM again you can start from where you saved. The .sav file is in the same place as the ROM file, and with the same name, you don't have to load the save file, it loads by itself.

    The problem is, that isnt the save file. With the default settings, the controls for saving are SHIFT + F[whatever number slot you want to save in] (ex: F1). There are 12 slots because there are 12 F buttons. To load that, there is no dragging involved. Just simply press the F button you saved the game to without the shift button and then it will load, exactly where you were.

    Just go to file and click (Save...) and select a save destination and it will create a (.sgm) save file and when you open VisualBoyAdvance again load the rom and then go to options and click (Load...) and select the (.sgm) from wherever to saved it to. This is probably the easiest method.

    No.... Not really.... Mine kinda works better. Unless for some reason it doesnt work....
