Sen woke early this morning He could tell that to day was going to be special he just didn't know why. When he arrived at work Mr. Matte his boss called him over "I've got a surprise for you but you can't have it until your work day is through." he said to Sen.
"Why do i have to wait till the day is over why can't I have it now?"
"If i gave it to you now you would run off and then i would never see you again."
"Did it finally come in??" Sen said quickly getting excited
"Did what come in? I have no idea what you're talking about, now get to work and ill see you at the end of the day." Mr. Matte said in a teasing tone
Sen was so excited he knew it had to be the Pokémon that he had been waiting on. Today is the day; He had been waiting for, the past few years for. Today he will get His first Pokémon, Mr. Matte offered to get him his first Pokémon if he proved that he could take care of it and make it happy. So Sen has been working and collecting money and supplies so that when ever Mr. Matte got the Pokémon he could set off and start training it.
Sen had no idea what kind it was but he didn't care he was just happy that he would finally have a Pokémon and be able to set out on his adventures. As the day dragged on Sen slowing progressed through his job chores. By the timework had ended Sen was practically jumping up and down from his excitement. He had been guessing all day what kind of Pokémon it might be and thinking of all the items he could get for it. He already had the basic items like pokeballs, potions, food, clothing, and sleeping bag, almost everything really except maybe a few items he didn't think about. Sen practically ran over to the office when the day was done.
"Ok Mr. Matte I'm done with today's job can I have my surprise now?"
"I guess so you deserve it" he said as he pulled a small pack out from behind the counter. "Your pay check, the surprise and a few items that can help you out later are all in the pack, I hope you come and visit sometime in the near future cause I know you will be leaving as soon as you can."
Sen was so excited he could barely open the pack Inside was some money, A pokeball, and a few items that were used for Pokémon. Sen Quickly snatched the pokeball out of the bag and hit the release. A beam of red light came out and a Leafeon appeared in front of Sen. His eyes wide with wonder and excitement Sen knelt down on the ground beside the Leafeon and held out his hand to let the Pokémon get to know him. The Leafeon walk towards Sen and sniffed his hand, he took a quick lick and rubbed his face against his palm.
"She seems to like you Sen" said Mr. Matte.
Sen had forgotten about everything and everyone around him besides the Pokémon and hearing Mr. Matte speak startled him made him jump scaring the Pokémon.
"Thank you Mr. Matte I love her, thank you so much, and your right I plan on leaving first thing in the morning" Sen said excitedly already dreaming up adventure he would have with his Pokémon.
"Then you should go buy all the supplies that you dont already have"
Sen thanked Mr. Matte again and coaxed the Leafeon in to following him out the door and down the street to the market. Once inside he told the Leafeon to choose want it wanted or thought it would need, surprisingly it listened and tugged a few items off the shelves and brought them to Sen.
"I think I'll call you Kit, do you like that name?" Sen said to the leafeon
She stared at him as if she were thinking and then nodded and gave a strange meow which Sen took as a yes.
"Good, then we should get home so we can pack and get some sleep so we can start early tomorrow. Do you want to go back in your ball?"
Kit quickly shook her head and backed away from the pokeball in his hand.
"Ok that's good i would rather you stay out too." He said to Kit trying to comfort his new Pokémon.
Sen gathered a few more items and some more pokeballs and a few of the other balls available and purchased the items. Kit stayed by his side the whole time and Sen noticed other people in the store watching her as she walked beside him.
When they arrived back at his house Leafeon immediately started sniffing around and checking everything out while Sen packed all the stuff he thought they would need on their journey. Sen set out some food for Kit and made dinner for himself and some provisions for the road. As they ate dinner Sen marked some places he figured they could find some interesting Pokémon and train on the map that he had bought. After they finished dinner Sen made sure the Pokedex and his phone were getting charged and climbed into bed. Without any hesitation Kit jumped on the bed and curled up next to Sen and meowed a goodnight before starting a soft purring snore. Sen didn't think he could get to sleep because he was so excited but listening to Kit purring soon lulled him into a peaceful sleep.
As soon as the sun was above the horizon Sen was waking up he laid In bed watching Kit sleep for a few minutes before he slowly got out of bed and started checking all of his belongings and making all the last minute changed to his pack. This pack seems to have an endless supply of room for some reason Sen thought to himself.
He had left Kit in the bed to sleep for a little longer, she was beautiful and perfect, he hoped they would have a strong bond as they traveled and he hoped the rest of his Pokémon would turn out to be like Kit.
Sen set out food and water for Kit and woke her up. She stretched and purred and went straight to her food. By the time she was done Sen had already eaten his breakfast and had all of the supplies sitting by the door ready to go he packed up her bowls and he picked up the pack.
"You ready to go girl?"
'Lea' Kit said with a nod
"I'm guessing that's a yes." Sen said still feeling strange about guessing on his Pokémon's feelings. "I wish you could talk to me or somehow tell me things without me guessing at them."
'You didn't really ask either' Said a voice inside of Sen's head
Sen quickly turned around and faced Kit. "Was that you just talking to me???"
'Yes? You mean you can actually hear me?' said the voice again
"yyes I can hear you but I didn't know I was able to"
'my last owner couldn't understand anything I tried to say to him so I just started making sounds and gestures'
"so what does this mean? I can talk to Pokémon? Or is it just you?"
'probably all kind of Pokémon but it's kind of a rare gift so I'm not too sure. Maybe we can find out whenever we go somewhere '
"Yeah good idea, we were supposed to have left already."
'then lets go'
"Alright here we go." Sen grabbed his phone and Pokedex and added them to a pocket on his belt with the pokeballs. Sen grabbed the bag as he walked out the door with Kit following close behind him. He closed and locked the door saying goodbye to his home. Since he didn't have any family left that he knew of he didn't have to say bye to anyone else.
"Ok we are headed to the forest towards a large lake that is supposed to be nearby where we should be able to get some good Pokémon battles and capture a variety of Pokémon. "
Sen headed out of town with kit keeping pace beside him. No one in the town was awake this early in the morning so they made it to the town entrance fairly quickly. Sen looked at the map and found a place that should lead them straight to the lake that was close to the village. So they quickly got off the road and took a path leading into the deep forest.
