4th Gen Need some advice on preordering in my unique situation XP

Hey guys, I need some advice concerning preordering pokemon diamond. I'd like to preorder it at the mall, but I have one problem; I'm leaving for vacation on the 24th and the shipping date is the 22nd. In my county (and unfortunately this is the only US county with this law) most stores must be closed on sundays by law unless they sell necessities, like a super market; they even have to put yellow tape around anything they can't sell on sundays! The malls are also closed on sundays. I was wondering if this would affect the day the game arrives at the store. The only day I will be able to pick up the game is the 23rd, but something I learned by reserving other games is that they often get the game 1 day after the shipping date. On some websites, like gamestop, it says the shipping date is the 23rd. I'm going to california, and I'm considering buying the game when I get there, but if I do that I'm worried about the game being sold out before I can get to a store. I guess I can preorder it online, but then I have to wait an extra week to play. If you reserve a game at the store and you cant pick it up for 6 days, will they still hold it for you? Any advice is appreciated, thanks :3

i couldn't disagree with that any more. the whole idea of pokemon isn't as popular as it once was, but Diamond and Pearl are more than popular. old and new fans everywhere are into purchasing it because its new features. heck, i had a man who was well in his 30s ask me what i was playing on the bus (i was playing leaf green), and he suddenly began to go into a rant about how he can't beat the elite four in ruby and has already preordered both Diamond and Pearl for himself and his 2 nephews.

you say 6 days right? i'm not sure about pre-ordering, but if you order online (amazon is suggested), you can put in an order for it with the FREE shipping option which takes up to 5-7 days. that way, you can save 5 bucks as well. you're still risking that it will come a day early, however. if you don't want to have to wait that long, you can pay extra for speedy shipping (takes 1-2 days), and also, when you pay for speedy premium shipping, the shipment is usually made overnight on the night before the actual release date, so you might be able to get it on the 23rd.

Thats a really random law... unless its some odd religious town...

I'd ask the store about it, they should know, especially because well, yeah, its the crazy law. Check with them, then decide what would be best.

It's not a city law, it's a county law XP I live in bergen county New Jersey. The law has its roots in the days of the colonies but it hasnt been removed because some people like having sundays off.
