Need some help on doing my first Pokémon mod

    Hello! This is my first time posting and I'm still unfamiliar with the site so excuse me for bad questions. I made this account a long time ago when I was downloading rom hacks but now I want to get into modding games myself. I am trying to do text editing and type icon editing for Gen IV and Gen V games but I'm not sure where I should go to get started on this. I want to change the names of moves and also what characters say and I also want to change the icon for move types. For example, I'd want to change a move's name like flamethrower into maybe bazooka or something and for the type icon I just want to change how it looks, such as changing the fire type icon into something like a flame sprite. If that's not possible, then I was also wondering if it's possible just to change the text of the type icon. I don't want to change any type advantages or anything yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated, whether it is a pointer to a guide or not! Thanks!
