    Umbreon: Leftovers
    Yawn
    Protect
    Toxic
    Taunt

What you do when depends on their starter. Lets say they start with Forretress (I think that's not uncommon). They switch to Heracross. You Yawn. You protect. They megahorn and miss. They fall asleep. Then you start posioning stuff. They send in Blissey or some kind of Baton passer and you use Taunt. If they start attacking, you toxic and stall out with protect.

That's not the only thing you can do. You can also use it to stop your field from getting all spiked up at the beginning with taunt. Maybe EV train it in speed some so it has the edge over that stupid steel bird. Also as a psudo psudo hazer perhaps. And as a psudo wall.

Do you think this moveset has any potential. I was trying to think of some way to make Umbreon viable and this seemed like an interesting and original idea.

problem: after you use yawn, they switch out.

when you use taunt on blissey, you don't have wish to outstall it.

    toxic is generally bad XD

if they use taunt on you, you're screwed =/

During the second turn when Heracross or another fighter is out they wouldn't want to switch out because going to sleep is a small price to pay for giving Umbreon a megahorn in the belly. The trick is they don't anticipate protect.

Also if they do switch out you've seen three of their pokemon and they've only seen Umbreon, which gives you a good advantage.

when you use taunt on blissey, you don't have wish to outstall it.

Taunt counters any Umbreon :( Meh everything counters something.

if you have yawn, you will most likely have protect. everyone who knows the least bit about battling would foresee that. and it's not an advantage because you've revealed that all your umbreon does is yawns/protects and maybe even uses toxic because of this. so while you DO know more of their pokemon, you don't know what set they are running (whether its CB/CS or subpunch).

blissey will continue to use seismic toss on umbreon. while umbreon recovers a measly 1/8 over 2 turns, blissey will take above at least 1/4 every 2 turns. without wish, umbreon gets walled by blissey.

you shouldn't wait for something to use taunt before switching out, but hey, it's harder to predict nowadays. i give some of the weirdest things taunt ._.

Now your making sense. Although I think knowing three of an opponent's pokemon is more of an advantage than knowing only one but knowing the moveset on it.

If Blissey tries to outlast she dies and umbreon is left at 122 hp if Taunt is used on the turn Blissey comes in, and is left at 86 hp if Taunt is used on the turn after Blissey comes in.

First, no need to get sarcastic. Its a bad trait.

Tauntdos aside, Toxic is bad. All I must do is switch, turning that nasty Toxic into harmless poison. I'll try my best to get Hera poisoned.

Also, unlike Umbreon, Blissey has a reliable healing move. Some are run with Aromatherapy, nullifing Toxic.

7? Blissey's Toss really takes four turns to down Umbreon. Not taking unreliabe Protect in account.

Still, if this set is only meant to really scope out a few pokes, it seems like a waste of a poke slot to me. Plus, its too dependant on their leads to work. I tend to start with Bulkydos. Good luck stopping that. Or, I usually go for the all out offense with Forry, IF I happen to get Umbreon as a starter.

I thought they stayed badly poisoned. From bulbapedia says they do in generation 3 and I assumed that meant generation 3 and above.

    That's what taunt is for...

I was confused there, I edited my post. Protect if used every other turn is 100% reliable and using protect every other turn Blissey will die of toxic if she refuses to switch out. A badly poisoned taunted Blissey will probably switch out, natural cure and all.

It's meant to be an annoyer. A dead category in generation four according to most. I was trying to see if I could make it viable.

okay so you're saying your perfectly predicting things now? at first i thought you were going to use yawn on umbreon, but apparently not, you're going to use taunt first. see where i'm going on this?

and don't forget, blissey has natural heal, it has no problem hitting you with seismic toss 3 times while it loses somewhere around 40% of its hp after leftovers, switches out, switches in, same deal.

It doesn't matter. The difference between predicting it and no predicting it is like 40hp.

But ya, due to natural cure Blissey can switch out and back in again and would come out on top.

Thats hoping everyone uses that standard team. Bulkydos starter aside, I can (actually, I would without knowing) just switch to one of my other pokes who can absorb Toxic. It takes far too much prection for this to work. Plus, people often uses Umbre to charge up. Say I switch to Gya, right when you use Toxic. I'll be brasen enough to use Dragon Dance, while you either switch or Protect. With Leftovers support, I can charge up enough to wipe out Umbre, another poke, and switch to an Aromatherapist to heal.
