Never Give up!

If I can offer one piece of advice is to never give up on any battle no matter how much you are in the disadvantage. I have won some battles that people swear you could never recover from. Allow me to share a battle that I was going to lose, but I was able to turn the tables and make my opponent's strategy into my own.

So, I was battling an opponent from Japan. I had this Team:

    Karayan (Meowstic)
    Omega Thumper (Mega Steelix)
    Magnum (Tyrantrum)

    My opponent had this team:

    Mawile
    Gothitelle
    Hydreigon

At first, things were fine. I set up screens then switched to Steelix. My opponent switched to Hydreigon, and I beat it pretty easily. But then, my opponent summoned a Gothitelle. I have only battled this Pokemon ONCE in the past, so I had no idea what I was getting myself into. This Pokemon spammed Charm till my attack power was reduced to nothing. Then it started to set up Calm minds to prepare for a sweep. I thought I had lost the battle and was ready to throw in the towel. But that Pokemon Trainer Spirit burned inside me, and I took some time to figure out a way to come out on top.

Naturally, my opponent was trolling me because it figured that I didn't have toxic. My opponent was correct, so he/she decides to spam charm and run around my Pokemon. So I played his/her own game. I Spammed Curse to regain my attack power to force my opponent to keep spamming charm. At the same time, I waited 25 seconds before inputting my command to allow time to run out. My opponent was so dumb, that he/she took about 20 minutes or so to realize what I was doing. Unless my opponent knocks out a Pokemon, I am declared the winner in 5 minutes or about 6 turns. My opponent KO'd my Steelix, and I used Meowstic to stall the battle a bit more. My opponent was forced to switch, and summoned Mawile. I switched to Tyrantrum and KO'd his Mawile. Gothitelle tried to KO my Tyrantrum, but all my opponent had to attack was Snore. The timer reached 0, and according to the Pokemon League rules, I was declared the winner!

I know that my tactic was douchie, cruel, cheap, and trollie. But as I mentioned in a previous post some time ago, if my opponent can spam Substitute, and be considered a legit strategy; there is no rule against running the timer, so this is a legit strategy too.

So tell me forum, do you have a story where you thought you might lose, but came up on top because you outsmarted your opponent? Or maybe a well placed crit or miss helped you win? I don't know, I'd love to hear your stories, or post your Videos!~
