I've been trying to create my own Emerald hack with all Pokemon from gens 1-7. However, I've run into quite the snag: If I try to use a new color palette, the game will crash. I'll give an example of what happens:
I create the sprite for the new Pokemon, say, Rotom. I make sure it's 64x64, only 16 colors, all that. Then I use unLZ-GBA to import both the new sprite along with its color palette. Then I use PGE to add the new Pokemon along with said sprite into the ROM. As soon as I encounter that Pokemon in the game, it crashes. If I use the sprite of the new Pokemon but with a color palette already in the ROM, everything works just fine. Can anyone tell me of a way to get the Emerald ROM to accept new color palettes?
