I noticed that the flood limit seems to have been increased to 45 seconds. Is there a reason for this? It's annoying me, because I type really fast, and often I just don't have time to wait 45 seconds between each post when I'm trying to reply to ten threads and get to my next class in a hurry. *had enough problems with 30 seconds*

And also, with PMs you have to wait 60 seconds, i think?
When i have alot of PMs, i type fast and i get them answered in about thirty seconds. Almost all of the time i have more than one PM, when i try to reply to the next one I get the typical message, "This forum requires You have to wait 60 seconds before sending private messages. please try again in __ seconds. (However many seconds i have to wait XD)
That really bugs me too ><'

It prolly exists to prevent any unnecessary flooding…unless such thing doesn't exist right now, which I kinda doubt.

Why does this forum always catch my attention...?

Chances are it was increased to ease up the server lag. Steve himself has admitted that when a few DCC-like threads are moving really fast, they absolutely slaughter the server. I think it's only fair though, because he does pay for the server, yet even with said threads in place, everybody still yells at him when the server lags.

Also 45 seconds is nothing. I've adjusted to it from Gaia, so. *shrugs*

yes I increased it to 45 seconds and may raise it up to 2 mins max.. it's been raised to prevent flooding the database engine (and crashing / slowing down PC) during high usage times..

45? That's not a big deal. Most of the forums I go to are 1 minute.

Is there a reason why people complain so much? I don't think fifteen seconds will dramatically alter your PC experience that you need to start a thread for it.

The fact that you need to wait in between the 30 second mark means that you post short posts. How annoying. Instead of waiting, just make your post bigger and better, instead of smaller and more annoying.

Actually, I like the flood limit because it saved me numerous times from double-posting when I would've had to delete MANY double posts. Plus I type fast but I make my sentences worthwhile. And besides, I dont even post at 60% of the threads here like those games, member clubs and the DCC.

People don't care, they'll sit there hitting the submit button until their post does go through.

2 minutes? Holy Cow! I dont think I could deal with that. The 45 seconds doesn't bother me much, and even a minute wouldn't be to bad but 2 minutes? That is alittle high.

Yeah, 2 minutes would be a ridiculous amount of time. Imagine how much the DCC would be killed.
