Hi there!
I'm completely new to the idea of pokemon forum, and any kind of forum for that matter, but i upload this because i had an idea. An idea about a Johto region re-remake.
In these hypothetical new games, the added areas, are geographicaly isolated places within Johto that were left historically underdeveloped and the people there were left aside from the rest of Johto. Wild pokemon in these areas are more common, since there are not as many people living there as in the rest of Johto. There is also a lot more variety in wild pokemon and even some that only exist in these places and havent been seen ever before. The new, dark green areas and the cities/routes in them are swamplands. The elevation in these places in below sea level and infastructure connecting these places to the rest of Johto was always an issue. The brown areas are mountains and the darker the color, the higher the elevation. People in these rocky areas faced the same problem of connecting to the rest of the region. This is the reason that we could never go to these places in the previous games. However, now, after the demands of locals to be treated fairly, to be incorporated in the region and to be recognised as indigenous Johtoans, they are officially part of Johto. However there is still a stigma surrounding the people of these areas. Stereotypes that they are uncultured and weak. This could be the motivation of the rival as well. He/she could be from one of these places and tries hard to prove themselves worthy to be a champion, to make their people proud and change everyone's perception about them.
Now on to the new areas:
1. Counbert city > Located in the middle of the Vixil Swamps, west of mount silver. It is a fairly large city with a decent population, a gym of it's own (Dark) that is now recognised by the indigo plateau, even though it has existed for hundreds of years. People here, are very hard working. The bug and water types are very common in the surrounding areas. Including some native species that dont exist anywhere else, and that we've never seen before.
2. Rosom town > Located in the area with the harshest weather conditions in the region, and the second largest swampland (Cran), west of the lake of rage and north of Ecruteak. This town is a bit smaller than Counbert but it has the most unique architecture and landscapes in all of Johto, including Ecruteak city (with whom they have historically clashed many times). This town does not have a gym. People here are very proud (in a negative way) and they enjoy pokemon battles a lot. The same pokemon that are found in Counbert can be found here.
3. Grabanda town > A classic Japanese styled mountainous village with a very large population of old people, north of Olivine. In these rocly lands a rare berry tree blosoms. The Capra Berry, known for it's poison curing and friendship inreasing abilities. The Rock type gym here is one of the toughest in Johto. People here live a calm and quiet life. The pokemon found here are mostly rock and fire types, as well as some never before seen species.
4. illysenh city > the northenmost and most isolated place in Johto. Located at the northen foot of the west Johto Mountain range. The people here are well accustomed to colder temperatures and are said to be the founders of Johto. It is the oldest city in the Pokemon world. Here, only 10% of the pokemon are known. The rest are species that migrated here from bordering lands. There is no gym here because locals believe that pokemon battles are disgraceful.
5. Neramon town > A small coastal town south of Azalea. Fishing is the most common hobby of the outgoing people who live here. There is a Water gym in this town. Every 3 years, all the lanturns of johto gather at the old port of Neramon, to lay their eggs in the deep water and they swim a away in beautiful shining formations by their electric powers. There is a festival dedicated to them every time this happens.
Also i want to add that i would like the idea of a new cave being discovered. One that connects from Violet town, to the middle of the ilex forest. It could be the deepest in the region and the place where Dunsparce go to evolve into their dark-dragon forms that live in the pitch blackness of that cave.
Just a few things i was thinking about. I'd like you all to tell me your opinions on all this. Would it make a good game? Please give me feedback.
