New member; Where do I start?

Hello, my name is MrSquishyDBC. I've been interested in hacking a Pokemon rom (preferably Fire Red or Leaf Green) for quite a while, now, but I don't know where to start. I've tried looking at the tutorials page, but I couldn't tell where a good starting point would be; What tools and tutorials do I start with?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Goto The Toolxbox for the tools you need.
Next time you have a question about rom hacking,go to Simple Questions (SEARCH BEFORE ASKING A QUESTION)
You should read the Rules of the Scrapbox before making a thread here next time.

Get Advanced Map,
OW editor Rebirth Edition,
XSE,
UNZL.gba,
and thats a few tools you should get before hacking a PKMN rom...

That's the thing. I checked the Tutorial pages, I didn't skip that. I just don't know which one to start with. There are so many, and I'm sure there are some tutorials that are hard to understand without having done others before hand. If anyone has a suggestion of where to start, then I'd greatly appreciate it.
