Hello everyone! This is my first post and I'm a fairly new player, so please bear with me if I say something... egregious.
I have been playing through the gen III-V games in an attempt to complete my pokedex/create a few solid teams for the Global Battle Union on Pokemon White and Black. My main problem is that I have relatively little idea how to obtain the old event pokemon, such as Darkrai or even Victini. The only way I know of to do it even remotely fair and square (without blatant cheating or exploitation) is to get an Action Replay and use it for the SOLE purpose of acquiring items like the member card that were originally given out at events, then traveling to an island and catching the pokemon the conventional way (SR for IV's and all that :P). In essence what I want is the same experience and result that a player who participated in an event would have had, but now it's too late for that. Will the methods below work? Is there a better method? I do not want to risk damaging my game or disabling any features (such as the GBU).
Some of the legendaries (like Darkrai) I want are from platinum/pearl/diamond. If I use the action replay on, say, platinum for a 'member card', go catch Darkrai, then trade Darkrai to Pokemon White (where my main team is), will Pokemon White have any side effects, such as not being able to use the Global Battle Union?
If I use an action replay on Pokemon White itself for a liberty pass, then catch Victini, will Pokemon White have any side effects, such as not being able to use the Global Battle Union? What about if I catch it on Black and then trade it to White?
I want to catch the event legendaries and am willing to SR for good iv's fair and square, and I don't want pokemon with boosted stats, I just want the same experience people who played during the event got. I just don't want to damage my game in ANY way. Is this possible? I'd honestly be happpy with any way of fairly obtaining the event pokemon I do not have.
