New to Jhoto and need advice on my pokemon team.

Hello people, I've recently joined and i would like team advice for my Soul Silver.
I've created a team for basically getting through the game and i want to know how i can improve it. Currently I've only played the FR/LG and D/P versions of pokemon. As for the events in game that i have finished i have recently beaten Whitney and made it to Ecruteak City.

My team at the moment is:
Quilava
Weepinbell
Flaffy
Fearow
and Espeon.

as for a sixth pokemon i was thinking a krabby or something but i don't know what i need for the pokemon league.

you don't need a super great team the team looks good so far i usally just train my starter pokemon and it gets me through the game the johto region is pretty easy to beat too

to rate your team effectively we will need Movesets and natures along with any held items
also I suggest a water type as a Pokemon like Ninetales or Arcanine with flash fire could cause decent damage to your team also I have never really cared for the Bellsprout line but do to the Johto regions lack of good grass types and this being a In-Game team you should be okay

Lapras would be another good choice. As you will need an Ice-type at several times (aka: Lance & Clair) but a water-type in general is recommended. Dewgong, Lanturn, Lapras and Quagsire are highly recommended choices. You could also go with a Dragon-type Dragonite line, but it would be a shame to waste too many water-type moves on them.
