    Hello again peoples,
    This is part two, of my New type pokemon thread. See the original here;

    So, the top 5 types were the following. Please pick two. (And please only post about the Poll options, that is what this thread is intended for. I respect everyone's opinions on a new type, and there is the above thread for that. This however, is for these 5 ideas, and therein thoughts. Thank you for respecting everyone else who is interested.) ^^

    Space, Sound, Virtual, Chaos, and Light.

    Sound and Virtual came out with the best replies, and supportive ideas. Meanwhile Light while having many backers, had even more opponents. Space and chaos having about equal in yay or nay comments.

    So now is the pick for which of those 5, you think there should be, are needed, or just sound like fun.

    Also, if you have any ideas to add in for any of these 5, please by all means add them in, to either this thread or the affore mentioned.

    Why would we need a light type, light is everywhere. It'd be pretty hard to qualify. Okay i've done this before in another thread.
    Star type, star's are gas, which would fit under poison/fire type in my mind.
    Space type? Space is just space, nothing else. The stuff in space is mostly types of minerals, which is represented fine by rock, steel and ground. The other stuff (i'm talking about Aliens of course) culd probably fit under another type (like Deoxys and psychic.)
    Wind in the past has been characterized under flying, which I think works. Grass and Normal could also fit this category.
    The problem with wood type is that, wood comes from trees which would fit under grass type (i think it should be renamed plant type).
    Virtual type sounds cool, but is a lot like psychic. Eatehr that or its technology (which I'll get to next).
    My least favourite suggestion by people is the "machine type" if they're thinking robots then, this is my argument. Steel+Electric=Machine. Very few cases go against that. Virtual is the only one I can really think of, but Virtual technology, i'm guessing still has to do with electricity, maybe poison (like car fuel)

    I myself arn't agaisnt new types, I'd love to have a new one, I'd love to get excited over it but I can't find a reason to believe we need a new type. We can't have new types for the sake of having new types.
    When they created Steel, there was nothing really like it and Dark gave versatility to the game, took power away from the almost invincible (when used correctly) psychic type. The only thing like Dark was Psychic. (like evil sorcerer, which would now probably be a Psychic/Datk type.)
    I'm begging to ehar something that would work, but I find the purpose, is just not there, or you wouldn't really be able to draw anything for it, (like say an "air type.)

    As for sound, its noise, all pokemon make noise with their cries, how can you characterize that. A sound wave pokemon could be done but besides that nothing else could truly fit under that.

    I'm beginning to see a little light on the light type but honestly, almost everything is covered. Normal, Rock, Ground, Flying....with the available combinations we don't NEED another type.
     
    I said virtual and light, just because they're the only ones that make sense to me.

    But in my opinion the type system is fine as is, but if they had to add some new types, I suppose those would be my choice.
     
    Does no qualify as an answer? I personally think all those suggestions are pretty lame (no offense) and the type chart is perfectly balanced as it is right now. New types would probably just break the balance and so far I haven't heard any good suggestions for a good type anywhere.

    And thats your opinion, althought this current thread is more for the voting of those options, the thread to say no new types are needed was the previous in this set. This thread was the result of the previous thread.

    Some of us do feel new types are needed, or would just make the games fun again. I personally would love to see many things happen to Pokemon, not just some new types. Reason, I asked if anyone else thought a new type would be cool, is I personally feel it is very well balanced at the moment. But GF, needs to make some new combination types. And some of them they just won't. Like Fire/Water probably won't be seen. A singular Flying only type.

    One to 3 more new types, would rebalance the game to make feel new. Theres many things they could do to do that, but seemingly wont.
     
    From the last thread, everybody knows my hatred of the dull light type. If I had to choose one it would be virtual since it isn't a copycat of another type or legendary pokemon. I think it's fine the way the type chart is. Why fix something that isn't broken?
     
    Sound could be an element, they're already making some use of it through Pokemon like Exploud. The other ones aren't going to happen though. Chaos? Psychic or Dark. Virtual? That'd be under Normal. *coughPorygon* Light? Fire/Electric. Space? Dark or Ghost.

    I do agree most of the types stated can be put into combinations of the types at current. Sound and Virtual though, should be added. Even as you said Loudred and Exploud, even Chimecho, should be just switched right on over to sound type. Porygon, while yes being Normal type, really needs to be something else, it just doesnt fit and makes him rather lamed out. Porygon is a cool pokemon, one of the 2 pokemon not created by the Poke'God. Other being Mewtwo. Besides the point.

    Chaos type would also make sense, just as a result of the Gamecube games, Shadow type, getting into the pokemon genetics, and what not.
     
    Normal is actually what could be called "non-elemental." Since Porygon's line was never given an element, there's no need to create a digital element just for him. Besides, how the hell would a Digital/Virtual element attack other Pokemon, who exist outside of cyberspace only? Digital data isn't even tangible. Porygon exists because he was bio-engineered in reality from the same programming he contained when existing in cyberspace.
     
    Okay, I have a rebuttel your that statement: Normal, while being good for some pokemon, dosen't cut it for others, like Porygon. I mean, the Porygon line has all of the potential in the world, yet has to be stuck with a type that has no other types weak to it and not very effective against the Rock and Steel types while overall not effecting the Ghost type whtsoever. and while Ghost types can't hurt it either, it's the only resistance that normal has. Overall making normal the worst type in pokemon. Porygon dosen't deserve that! neither does Snorlax, Exploud, Regigigas, or a few other select normal types that have a lot of potential, but get bashed all because of a bad type. That's why I chose winners. That's why I chose Sound and Virtual!
     
    Light and Virtual - I've been personally using Light and the similar Virus types for many years :)

    Sound and Space types don't really make sense. What would they be weak to? What would be affected by them? They seem illogical. I can see Sound type moves working out, but even they are a bit ambiguous.

    Chaos doesn't really work for me either.

    Light however works as a GOOD means of countering dark (a shadow is removed by the light) and could set up a nice type triangle with dark and psychic.

    Virtual accounts for Porygon and my own Virus type let me play around with MissingNo. as if it were a real Pokémon.

    Yer a lil emo aren't ya Mr.May? Reason you are getting ignored on this thread, is because of 2 reasons. A, you already posted a rather large comment earlier, B, this isnt the thread for stating why you don't think new types are needed. That was on the previous thread.

    The above goes for you as well Rose Reaper. I respect everyones opinion on if there should be new types, but your on the wrong thread ppl. Please respect the thread, and use it for only what its intended for. The thread called New Types is still active, please post these comments there.
