[Question] New types

    so i am curious if there is a method to make new types in regular rom hacks (Not fan games) I know it was possible once upon a time, but YouTube tutorials are like a decade out of date (And expect you to already have a master's degree in coding) and I am curious if there is a new (and preferably easier) method.

    Anyone wondering, I wish to add Sound and Light (There are already patches for Fairy, plus CFRU has it built in)
