No$gba Platinum problem

    I loaded up the ROM on No$gba and the intro worked, the naming of character and rival was fine but when the actual game starts the screen is black. I displays the text that appears but not the actual map part. Is this a problem with the emulator or the ROM because I downloaded a different Platinum ROM and exactly the same thing happened?
