[Tool] Noob question about bytes. [Nameless Sprite Editor]

Hi, I've been messing around with hacktools for about a week and I've encountered something I can't seem to figure out on my own.
This concerns the Nameless Sprite Editors (first one) and regards item sprites. Editing FireRed.
After editing a sprite (Just the image, I'm not changing the pallets) and trying to save it, I get a pop up telling me "XX bytes is too big. Repoint image to offset $HXXXXXX?".
I was mindlessly pressing OK the first couple of times but then I started noticing that some of my sprites became corrupted, including some that saved without change before.

Related to that, some sprites (always those that give me the pop-up upon saving) end up giving me a "Failed to load sprite!" when trying to save the new offsets in G3T's Items Editor.

This could just be my own stupidity, am I missing something here?
    Any help greatly appreciated.
