3rd Gen Oh noez! Breeding problems

    I bred my male Kecleon with my female Vulpix to get Substitute.

    But it didn't work...

    When it hatched, all it knew were Ember & Tail Whip.

    But when I bred my Kecleon with Spoink, Spoink knew Substitute.

    Spoink & Vulpix both learn Sub the same way. (FR/LG Move Tutor), so why did only Spoink get it from breeding?

    Help plz...
     
    though vulpix can learn substitute......vulpix doesnt learn substitute via egg move
    here is the list vulpix learn via egg move:
    faint attack,hypnosis,flail,spite,disable,howl,psych up,heat wave
    or check serebii for more info
     
    -_- egg moves didn't cross my mind...my bad.

    Wow. I just looked at the list of Pokemon who can learn Sub by breeding, and none of them can actually use it effectively...
