    INTRODUCTION

With the great success that my all-out offensive OU team has been pulling off on the Smogon ladder for the past few weeks, I decided to try out a UU team carried in the same style. Since I am brand new to UU, this team was quite a challenge to build, and probably has several great changes that could be implemented.

The strategy of this team is to keep the offensive pressure on the opponent, and to keep the opponent guessing. This team also relies on prediction a lot, as does any good offensive team. To keep the opponent guessing, several unusual sets and rarer moves than the standard Smogon sets are seen on a lot of my Pokemon.

This team consists of two support Pokemon, two "panic buttons", and two mixed sweepers. This layout was introduced by a combination of three of Smogon's best battlers in a team that dominated most other teams it faced.

    TEAM ANAYLSIS

    THE SUPPORT DUO

[PokeCommunity.com] Ok, so What EXACTLY am I doing this time? (UU RMT)

    Yanmega @ Focus Sash
    Modest Nature (+ S.Atk, - Atk.)
    Ability: Speed Boost
    EVs: 104 Def/ 152 Spe/ 252 Spa

    Air Slash
    Bug Buzz
    Hidden Power Ground
    Hypnosis

This Yanmega lead is the exact same as the one in my OU RMT. Yanmega gets plenty of support from the rest of the team, and can provide plenty of support by taking out a good chunk of a team when played correctly (and when hypnosis decides not to get haxy on turn 1 lol). Air Slash and Bug Buzz slam UU hard, and HP Ground hits stuff like Registeel, Nidoqueen, and Steelix. The Defense EVs allow Yanmega to take 3 of Azumarill's Aqua Jets, and the Focus Sash grants it survivability against moves like Stone Edge or Rock Slide.

    Uxie @ Leftovers
    Bold Nature (+Def., - Atk.)
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 240 HP/ 28 Def/ 216 Spe/ 16 Spa/8 SpD

    U-Turn
    Psychic
    Thunderbolt
    Stealth Rock

Uxie has amazing bulk to go with a base 95 Speed. This allows it to get Stealth Rock up in most situations, especially if Yanmega was successful in crippling the opponent's lead. The type coverage that Uxie gets in UU with Psychic and Thunderbolt is very effective, and U-Turn allows it to get out of any sticky situations it may come across.

    THE MIXED SWEEPERS

[PokeCommunity.com] Ok, so What EXACTLY am I doing this time? (UU RMT)

    Ludicolo @ Life Orb
    Naughty Nature (+Atk, -Sp. Def)
    Ability: Swift Swim
    EVs: 132 Atk/ 168 Spe/ 208 Spa

    Surf
    Ice Beam
    Grass Knot
    Fire Punch/Zen Headbutt

Ludicolo was just recently put onto the team to help out against a major Dugtrio weakness that this team had. It is able to easily deal with Dugtrio through its STAB moves and Ice Beam. It also provides a great deal of damage to the Ground and Bulky water side of UU, pairing it well with Blaziken, who suffers from Bulky waters. Fire Punch is currently there as a filler move, but I am considering Zen Headbutt to hit Fighting types for super effective.

    Blaziken @ Life Orb
Mild Nature (+Sp. Atk, - Def.)
    Ability: Blaze
    EVs: 240 Atk/ 16 Spe/ 252 Spa

    Fire Blast
    Stone Edge
    Superpower
    Vacuum Wave

Blaziken covers everything that Ludicolo struggles against, including the bulky normal types (aka Chansey+Clefable). Blaziken's EVs were altered to give it plenty of offensive punch, and still be able to outspeed its greatest enemy- Milotic. Both Stone Edge and Vacuum Wave were chosen on this set for priority and coverage against Altaria.

    THE PANIC BUTTONS

[PokeCommunity.com] Ok, so What EXACTLY am I doing this time? (UU RMT)

    Mismagius @ Choice Scarf
    Timid Nature (+Spe., - Atk.)
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 252 Sp. Atk/ 252 Spe/ 6 HP

    Hidden Power Ground
    Thunderbolt
    Shadow Ball
    Trick/Energy Ball

Mismagius can take care of a lot of things my offensive core can't get rid of, such as Rotom and Milotic. Mismagius deals with these Pokemon and others through a combination of moves that usually isn't seen together. Shadow Ball and Thunderbolt are staples for a Choice Scarf Mismagius, but Hidden Power Ground combined with Energy Ball is not. Trick is usually seen on a Scarf Mismagius, but I personally can't usually find good times to Trick an opponent, so I prefer going with more coverage and hitting Quagsire and Gastrodon with Energy Ball. Trick will remain as an option atm, however.

    Registeel @ Leftovers
Careful Nature (+Sp. Def, - Sp. Atk)
    Ability: Clear Body
    EVs: 252 HP/ 100 Atk/ 156 Def

    Earthquake
    Iron Head
    Thunder Wave
    Explosion

Registeel is most likely the weakest link of this team. Used mainly to cripple fast and frail sweepers with Thunder Wave, Registeel can also explode on Pokemon that pose a huge threat to my team. However, it has been quite unsuccessful so far.

This team definitely requires help, so I appreciate any criticism it gets. Thanks!

I'm no UU expert so I'll leave it to Luke Bear and D_A to get into details, but Mismagius really shouldn't be running Power Gem lol. Trick is much more useful because, well, it basically permanently neuters your opponent's Pokemon.

Also, I don't get why Stealth Rock and Calm Mind should ever be in the same moveset. That's kind of like running SDChomp with SR over Fire Fang lol. If you really want to keep the momentum with your team, just use U-turn to escape and give something a free switch-in. You don't have anything that's going to lure and kill Chansey or whatever walls special attacks in UU anyway, so it's going to get walled probably.

Problem is, I usually don't find opportunities to use Trick unless its a lead set. I will get rid of Power Gem for Energy Ball atm though to hit Quagsire.

Ok, I'll take out Calm Mind and put on U-Turn.

I would cover better some weakness, for instance if it owed a Yanmega lead adversary your team to happen your team it is in the troubles, Blaziken and Uxie they have become very predictable Pokémon in the metagame UU of both the simultaors.

I don't see Yanmega giving troubles. If I don't win the speed tie with other Yanmega with my lead, I can easily switch to Registeel to absorb an incoming attack and paralyze it, which pretty much cripples it.

Even though Blaziken and Uxie are predictable, they still do an effective job for the team.
