4th Gen Online Battling?

    Here's a BRILLIANT idea.

    Diamond and Pearl should make use of the Nintendo DS's Wi-Fi capabilities. Have players all over the world link up and engage in all forms of battles, perhaps even Contests, or any of the Berry-related minigames. Perhaps even new, unheard of forms of Pokemon competition. It could be the birth of a whole new league of Pokemon battling!!~
     
    Oooooh. There's a good idea. There could be stuff BESIDES battling over Wi-Fi, too. Cooool.
     
    *nod* I did suggest the idea of Contests and co-operative minigames. Definitely a lot of possibilities here.
     
    I just hope Nintendo doesn't make you have to obey a bunch of stupid rules for online battling, but at the same time, I hope they can allow you to set the usual clauses and stuff (Sleep/Freeze clause, etc.). Online contests would be awesome... and I hope that you can see your Pokemon wearing the ribbons they win... That'd be just cool.
     
    What possible boundaries would be set in battling? I don't really know of any unethical battling methods. I mean, things like constant switching or the like would be annoying, but it's all part of the individual strategizing.
     
    Well there could be different rooms or something. Like rooms where no legendaries are allowed and stuff like that. That would be better. Of course, you would only use those rooms if you wanted. You know, so people who rely on legendaries could have their fun, too.
     
    Aye, sounds good.

    You know what would be awesome? An ACTUAL Pokemon League. As in, official online tournaments!!

    Umm, haven't you heard? They ARE gonna do online battling.

    Sad thing is that Nintendo doesn't know anything about competitive battling. I mean, look at the mess they made out of the Journey Across America tournament. Allowing uber Pokemon just messes everything up. >=(

    Although it would be fun to finally cream those nooby 10-year-olds who think that Hyper Beam and Blast Burn are good moves for Pokemon.

    Aren't you going to be able to use Pokemon Diamond or Pearl with the Pokemon Battle Revoution and be able to chat with people while your battling?

    I think you can.

    I will try to refrain from making little kids cry by saying things like "Haha, you used Strength, you suck!" or "Haha, Pidgeot blows, maybe that's why you're losing so badly." Also it is tempting. *evil laugh* :badsmile:

    Squeee, taunting opponents. Hahaha. Funnnn. Battling just got worlds better.
     
    Knowing Nintendo, voice chat is only gonna be allowed if you, like, prove that you're over 17 years old. That blows. I hope they allow everyone to voice chat.
     
    Keep in mind they think that only kids are playing the games. Or at least kids are their main demographic.
     
    Well some kids have very... *ahem* colorful vocabularies...
     
    The sad part is that you're right. Ah well. An opponent is an opponent and I will not show mercy. <3

    That doesn't really solve our potential problem, though...
     
    You know what would be cool? If they also made an online Battle Frontier. In other words, you could fight real trainers in Battle Tower, the Battle Dome(tourny!), co-op Tower, race in Pike, and all sorts of other things.
    I like the Contest idea and League online, that would be awesome! I dunno, different rooms might get a litttle too big(space-wise), but that's good too.

    Oh! Yeah! More variety just adds more fun to the online mode! Wow, I wonder what's gonna be in the final product... but so does everyone else. XD

    I agree with you. But the part I'm looking forward to the most is randomly yelling out ''LOL'' in the microphone when I pwn someone. :3 I just hope you can disable voice chat, too. I wouldn't like someone LOLing at me. xP
