"Time, an irreversible, unstoppable thing. We may try, but only one being can traverse time. We know this being as Celebi, the time traveling pokemon. Not much is known about this pokemon, being as it goes through time as it pleases. This green wonder has caused many to attempt to catch it, but none have. Now though, we may have found a way. By studying points in which it has been seen, we plan to plant invisible, electric fields around these areas, in an attempt to catch it and harness its ability to travel throug time. If we could control a pokemon like this, we could also traverse time, solving many questions man has had about his past. With this ability, we could find out how we end, and try to prevent it. This could be our biggest breakthrough in the history of man."
At the end of his speech, Guy stepped down off of the podium while applause rang in his ears. By the time he sat down at his table the clapping had stopped and the next speaker was up and talking. He didn't pay much attention, only catching a few words. He studied the room around him. He was in an elegant ballroom, rented out especially for this meeting. This meeting was one where scientists all over the world present either a new discovery they made, or a new theory they came up with.
"Hey Guy, you still in there?" Alex, his lab assistant, said.
"Yes, of course." Guy replied, not responding otherwise.
"Well, you should be, this person is talking about something that may interest you."
Alex said, catching Guys attention.
"Hmm, what is it?"
"The butterfly effect and how to avoid it. After all, if we do manage to catch Celebi, and travel through time, then we should know about this."
"True, but don't you know I already studied that matter extensively? If I have Celebi teleport me from location to location, and I stand still while doing so, I will not cause any harm." At this Guy returned his attention to to the room around him.
"Well, at least I got a worth while reply out of him this time." Alex mumbled turning back to the speaker.
As he sat there listening to the speaker go on about whatever it was he was saying, he felt his eyelids grow heavy, and close.
After what felt like a second Alex was jostling his shoulder, saying "Wake up, the meeting is over."
"Already?" Guy replied, sitting up "I thought it would last forever. Or however long I slept."
"Well, you're lucky you didn't snore this time, I was ready to dump ice water on you."
"Well aren't you nice."
"Just shut up and come on." Alex said, standing up.
Guy slowly stood up, feeling every movement his body made along the way. "I need more sleep." He thought, walking alongside his assistant.
"Give me the key, you're obviously to sleepy to drive." Alex said, reaching out towards Guy.
"I am not." Guy grumpily replied, pulling out his car key.
"Alright, but if we get in an accident, you can't say I didn't warn you." Alex said, withdrawing his arm.
"Yes I can, it just won't be true." Guy retorted, unlocking his red car.
As Guy turned on the car, he wondered what he missed during the presentation. Not that he cared. He had started down the road already when,as if he had read Guy's mind, Alex told him what he missed.
"So, I was right." Guy said to no one in particular.
"You were right about what?" Alex asked.
"I didn't care about what I missed."
"I didn't think you would, even if they had talked about having found the gene that gave pokemon their abilities. I already mentioned that though."
Guy hadn't been listening entirely when Alex told him what he missed, so when he heard Alex talk about someone having found the gene, it struck a note in him.
"Alex," He said, pulling over, "I am to sleepy to drive."
Surprised at Guy actually admitting he was wrong Alex stammered "O-okay."
As they got out and switched sides, Guy's mind was elsewhere. In a place he had not been since his childhood. His fathers Bentons lab.
"fifty-eight, fifty-nine, sixty!" He counted, looking away when he reached sixty. Guy was seeing how long he could stare at the sun.
"Guy!" His father called, leaning out of the door of their garage (or as he preferred to call it, his lab).
Guy had been in the garage, but he had never seen anything that resembled a lab, except a few broken beakers and big, Grey walls.
"Coming!" He shouted back, hurrying to his fathers side.
Once he got there Benton asked him to step inside, so he did. Once in there, his Benton promptly put a blindfold on him and walked him to a corner of the small garage they where in.
"Dad, what are you doing?' He said, nervousness showing in his voice.
"I'm taking you to my lab." His father replied.
"But I thought this was your lab!"
"No son, this is my decoy for your mother."
At this Guy quieted down and did as his father asked.
Once they got to a corner Guy thought was empty, his father said "Down." and Guy could feel the ground moving down under him.
He was in an elevator, complete with the annoying music played in most other elevators. His father was even humming along with the music.
Guy groaned, thinking, this is not going to be good.
Once they got to the lab, Benton lead him through the room, and placed him in a chair.
"Now son, I need you to relax. This might hurt a little."
"What might hurt a little?" Guy nervously asked, while his father tightened leather straps around his wrists and ankles.
"This." Benton replied, sticking a long needle in his arm.
As he injected what was in the needle into Guy, he kept saying sorry.
As Guy endured the pain, he felt a burning sensation in his arm grow, then nothing. Everything had become black.
Hours later when he woke up, Guy was in his bed, with his father asleep in a chair near it. He checked the clock and saw it was near midnight.
"Dad?" He said, shaking his fathers arm, "Wake up dad!"
"What?" Benton shouted, waking up. After seeing Guy awake, he shouted "Yes! The chemical worked!"
"What chemical?" Guy replied, equally as loud.
"I'll tell you all about when you are older son, but for now, we will celebrate my success!"
His father took Guy downstairs and gave him the biggest bowl of chocolate ice cream he had ever seen. After that night, Guy never really trusted his father, but otherwise his life was normal after then.
"Guy, we're back at the lab!" Alex said, shaking his shoulder.
"What? Oh, back at the lab." Guy mumbled, realizing he had fallen asleep. As Alex got out of the car abd walked towards his he said "See you tomorrow Guy!"
Guy did not reply, instead he got in the drivers seat and drove home.
Once there, he quickly got in bed and went to sleep, afraid of what it meant when the
memory was triggered by the finding of the special gene in a pokemon.

I'm still working on the title, so when I do come up with a better one, is there a way to change it? But other than that, I hope you like my first bit of writing ever available to the public.
