Sorry about that. I realized this was in the wrong forum moments after I posted it; but I couldn't find the delete button.
Again, this is for my first playthrough, so I'm not looking for a godly party build. I can do that after I beat the game.
When considering natures, I settled for natures that were unhindering/slightly helpful because I did not have the patience to hunt down the exact nature I wanted
Quilava - Serious - Shell Bell (Will eqiup Choice Specs when it learns Flame Plume/Flamethrower)
- Flame Wheel - Will be replaced by Flamethrower
- Swift
- Smokescreen - Will be replaced by Eruption
- Leer - Will be replaced by Hidden Power
Gyrados - Naughty - Mystic Water
- Bite - Will be replaced by Ice Fang
- Dragon Rage - Will be replaced by Dragon Dance
- Surf - Will be replaced by Waterfall
- Whirlpool - Will be removed eventually (Undecided)
Crobat - Naughty - Sharp Beak - Appears to have high IV. Gains about +3 Hp/+3 Atk/+3 Spd every level.
- Wing Attack - Will be replace by Aerial Ace eventually
- Bite - Will be removed eventually (Fly/U-Turn/Cross Poison)
- Astonish - Will be removed eventually (Fly/U-Turn/Cross Poison)
- Confuse Ray
Nidorino - Serious - Exp Share - I dunno if it's worth continuing it. It's not very useful at the moment and I don't think it's worth using my earthquake TM on it considering Nidoking's very average stats. - Appears to have low IV.
The problem I have is..catching a staryu is going to be difficult when I only have a good rod (3% chance to find one), especially one with a good nature. I think Gyrados is a good pokemon, but he can't utilize Surf, being a terrible Sp. Attacker which means I'm going to need another HM slave for water. I do like the concept of Starmie though, although I dunno if it's a good idea to have so many speedy fragile pokemon (Jolteon, Starmie, Typhlosion)
The same goes for Scyther as finding the correct nature is going to be a major pain.
About Tyranitar - I'm mostly concerned about how I'm going to catch one. So far, I've heard that it's extremely rare in the safari zone, and even harder to catch. I'd like to have my party assembled before I reach an average party level of 35.
I might as well put out the proposed stats and movesets though:
Starmie (Modest)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Power Gem/Thunderbolt
- Recover
Tyranitar (Adamant)
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Fire Punch
Jolteon (Modest)
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power
- Double Team
Scizor (Jolly)
- Bullet Punch
- U-Turn/X-Scissor
- Swords Dance
- Night Slash
