Paul (anime) and Silver?

I've been watching the DP Series again, as well as following up with the original Gold, Silver, and Crystal Chapters of the manga. What I couldn't help but notice how much Paul and Silver are alike. Their hairstyles are similar, and their hair color is a bit out of ordinary, and their clothes almost correspond, although the color scheme is obviously different.

In addition, they both own similar Pokemon. Both own a Weavile, Honchkrow, and an Ursaring. They act the same, cold and stoic, although Paul is a bit over the top and resorts to insulting everyone, with the exception of elders.

So what do you think? Do you think the anime based Paul from Silver?

Yes. They clearly did base him off of Silver.

But not this Silver.

They based him off of the Silver from the Pokemon Gold, Silver, & Crystal games.

Also, Pokemon Adventures isn't the only Pokemon manga around. Adventures Silver and Paul aren't even that similar.

There's also Pokemon Gold & Silver: The Golden Boys which also has a character named Black who is also based off of Silver (game) and Pokemon Pocket Monsters which also has another character named Silver.

Yes, Lolipiece made a point. Silver PokeSpe doesn't trash talk as much as his game counterpart. so its much more probable that Paul are based from the game Silver instead.

I dont think that Paul was based on Silver personality wise but I do believe that the paul was based off of his design

I would say that Paul is based off of the game Silver, because manga Silver is way too awesome to be Paul. :P
